In Short
Once an industrial area filled with middle- to low-class commercial operations, the neighborhood has taken an upscale turn. But the Terminal Bar hasn't changed a bit: It's still an old-fashioned, narrow tavern with few fancy spirits; little on the walls; and a menu that offers aspirin, beer nuts and Slim Jims. There's a bit of live music--local punk and roots-rock--on a small stage in back.

Local talent encouraged to play, walk in crowd is transient to the neighborhood bars so the clientele changes frequently through the night. Management is friendly, stage is small but adequate for the size of bar. Booking and staff are friendly and helpful. Good load in space for bands, lots of opportunity.

The Terminal bar reminds me of being in the middle of a Twin Peaks episode. Seems like a place that would be in the middle of Wisconsin right in Minneapolis. Good drinks, music sometimes, and free popcorn. Hey, they have free popcorn! Nice bartenders and a good place to grab a beer and listen to some tunes!

We performed at the Terminal Bar. Atmosphere was great, and it's easy to pack that place wall to wall. Drinks are a little pricey, and they don't take credit cards. For musicians, the stage is tiny, if you have more than 4 people in your band, you're going to be shoulder to shoulder. Easy to look past those pesky negatives, and when you do you'll enjoy coming to this place, having a few drinks and enjoying some local, live music.
