What People Are Saying About Terminal Bar

In Short – Once an industrial area filled with middle- to low-class commercial operations, the neighborhood has taken an upscale turn. But the Terminal Bar hasn't changed a bit: It's still an old-fashioned, narrow tavern with few fancy spirits; little on the walls; and a menu that offers aspirin, beer nuts and Slim Jims. There's a bit of live music--local punk and roots-rock--on a small stage in back. – – –

Located right by northeast.

They are right by Mikes new job, He just got a part time job at the Holiday right down the block on central. He wanted to meet new people and get more managing under his belt. So one day I dropped him off, and on my way to coming to get him I saw this place and told him we should check it out and since he wasn't that tired he agreed to go. The beers were fresh and the bartenders were all friendly and inviting. Some bars we go to, people act weird if they have never seen us there before. But not this place it was very inviting like I said and the people were very interesting as well.

Terminal bar

I actually signed in to this thing to undo some misinformation... The Terminal bar is one of the last old school bars in mpls. The reviews are perhaps proper for the folks who reads such things.. However, what a disservice to overlook one of the few genuine places in the city Flem n Annette are gems. The bar is a haven. Go there if u dare. J

a real dive, and not in the good sense

by green23 at Citysearch

I've been here five times, mostly to see bands, but it's a terrible place. It's dingy, and not in the quaint sense, either. The regular crowd is pretty much low-life. They will steal your drink or anything that you leave (coat, gloves, hat, etc.) out while in the bathroom. And the bathroom is a horror that seems to have a perpetual puddle of urine on the floor.

The regulars are bitter, hardened alcoholics. I once saw one vomit on the floor next to his bar stool, and nobody even blinked or moved to clean it up. They just kept serving him.

If you are in a band, watch your equipment carefully here. Better yet, do not book here. Every band that I have seen there has complained about the place, and I don't think that anybody gets paid.

Cash only (no cards accepted). Beer selection is marginal, and the cleanliness of the glasses is questionable. In general, the place is filthy and decaying.

Terminal Bar get terminally trashed & yep like the VFW

by jaybythebay at Citysearch

I used to hit this place reeeal early back in the day. Not sure if it's still opens at 8-9 am. . But this is where the terminally alcoholic goes. If you don't like that & aren't mistfully wistful about VFW's, Legion Clubs etc like they have up on Da' Range where old men in trucker hats sip poison aside a confusing mix of younger blond clueless bimbo's ,avoid. But I personally like this "vibe" if you can call it that??

terminal bar more like VFW

by ac651 at Citysearch

This place uses artists and takes advantage of their patrons, I understand the need to draw people in to run a successful business but these guys are doing it wrong.

If you planning on playing there don't

Artists don't get paid, No drink specials, Place is a ghost town every night. There are plenty of places downtown that are free and actually have an atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks, $6.50 for a 6 oz. jack and coke....... geez

Word of advice to the cokehead who books there..........retire, you suck at your job

But buy all means go if WW2 vets is your crowd

  • Pros: none
  • Cons: 1. Not downtown 2.Overpriced drinks 3.Cover charge on a thur
