Editorial Review for Terminal Bar – by Christopher Bahn

In Short
Once an industrial area filled with middle- to low-class commercial operations, the neighborhood has taken an upscale turn. But the Terminal Bar hasn't changed a bit: It's still an old-fashioned, narrow tavern with few fancy spirits; little on the walls; and a menu that offers aspirin, beer nuts and Slim Jims. There's a bit of live music--local punk and roots-rock--on a small stage in back.

The Terminal bar reminds me of being in the middle of a Twin Peaks episode. Seems like a place that would be in the middle of Wisconsin right in Minneapolis. Good drinks, music sometimes, and free popcorn. Hey, they have free popcorn! Nice bartenders and a good place to grab a beer and listen to some tunes!

Pros: I like feeling like I'm in a Twin Peaks episode.

Cons: Sometimes it's too loud to talk during bands if that's what you want to do.

We performed at the Terminal Bar. Atmosphere was great, and it's easy to pack that place wall to wall. Drinks are a little pricey, and they don't take credit cards. For musicians, the stage is tiny, if you have more than 4 people in your band, you're going to be shoulder to shoulder. Easy to look past those pesky negatives, and when you do you'll enjoy coming to this place, having a few drinks and enjoying some local, live music.

Pros: Small place, near downtown, good live music, clown doll collection on display

Cons: Pricey drinks, don't take credit cards
