Used to be great, now lacking

I loved this place a couple years ago and recommended it to everyone I knew. Great food, amazing prices (I think only one entree is over 8.00), a sophisticated, yet laid-back atmosphere (the kind of place where it is fine to show up in a t-shirt and jeans, but if you dress up you wont feel out of place either), and reliable service made this one of my favorite restaurants. Went in just recently, after not going for almost a year, however, and was disappointed. Service was fine, with the exception of the fact that I had two waiters seemingly fighting over me (not necessarily a bad thing, mind you ;-)). But my meal was kinda crappy, and the bread, which used to be served hot and crispy, was cold and mushy. I dunno if they're under new management or what, but it just seems like quality has gone out the window.

• Pros: great prices, decent food, phenomenal atmosphere
• Cons: hit-or-miss service, recent lack in quality

Toothache and an Aftertaste of Gasoline.

My girlfriend and I went to the Spaghetti Factory for dinner tonight, Feb.28 2009. This was my first time and she had been there last year and said it was great. It is a beautiful restaurant and made me feel at home. We started with salads, which were great, and munched on their delicious bread while waiting for our entrees. I got the Number 1 Premiere, which is Chicken Mas-something and [The Famous] Lasagna.

When the food came, I started with the chicken, which tasted terrible, so I moved onto the lasagna. The lasagna was about average at first, but after I swallowed I got a weird aftertaste of gasoline in my mouth. I was really hungry so I kept eating the lasagna. After a few more bites of the lasagna I felt a crunch between my back teeth. I spat the food out into my napkin, and didn't care to look at what it was, but it hurt the heck out of my tooth. How is there a bone or piece of lead in friggin lasagna!? I stopped eating at this point, and my girlfriend offered me some of her pasta, which was about average as well.

I told the waitress about the crappy chicken and the toothache lasagna and she offered to comp it or replace it, and I just chose to get it comped because I had lost my appetite at that point. We got the check and asked for a to-go box for my girlfriend's pasta and the bread. A few minutes later, the waitress comes back with a box for the pasta only, so I ask her again for a box for the bread. In the meantime, my tooth is killing me and only getting worse while causing a mean headache on that side of my head. 5 minutes go by and the waitress has walked by the table multiple times without the bread box so we just left with the bread in the napkin. She did a good job up until then, probably because we had already paid and tipped her...

So here I am at home, emailing my dentist for an appt. and wondering why my mouth hurts and tastes like gasoline.

I WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN! Although they do have nice furniture.

• Pros: Beautiful restaurant and building.
• Cons: Below average food.

worst service i have ever had in my life...and I was a waitress myself for 6 years

As a former waitress myself, I give alot of slack and tip well, but this was exceptionally horrible service. Our appetizers arrived before our drinks. when the drinks came, he actually said, "i forget which ones are regular coke and which are diet. Do you want me to bring new drinks, or can you just guess yourselves." We thought it was a joke. It had been 30 minutes since our appetizers arrived, and I asked him if our food was ready. His reply, "Yeah. I saw it sitting in the window before I came out here." I actually had to ask him to bring it out. As he brings the food, he dropped food in my drink, and actually asked if I minded drinking it or if he should get another one for me. Then, as we are eating, he says, "You guys ordered garlic bread appetizers, so I didn't bring the bread that comes with your meal. You didn't want that, did you?" I didn't even know how to respond to this waiter any more. We said, "yes, actually, we do want it". Before all of this started, we told him we had a show at 730pm, and would have to leave early. He dropped off the check at 715pm after much asking, and I had to again ask for the ice cream, that was included in the price of our meals. I will NEVER NEVER NEVER go to that restaurant again, and I will tell this story to anyone that will listen. as far as the food itself, decent, if you ever get it.
