A fun neighborhood restaraunt with delicious pizza. Our family loves this place and we get take out there often.
King of Pizza.
I can't believe I waited a year before trying Beek's. Maybe it's the weird name or "limping along" website. If I would have walked in to place an order, I'd have walked out. I think their motto is "We didn't decorate in the 50s, so why start now." No music, dark, no decor, handwritten 'welcome' sign...
Well all the bad out of the way, it's just really good pizza. I don't know how some places can nail that rich, slow-cooked sauce taste, but Beek's does. Also liberally applied, also a plus in my book. The crust is hand-tossed, flakey and thin, and just the way I like it. I've seen an independent meat truck backed up to the place, so you know the meat is local. The sausage is great. If you've had Pizza Man sausage, it rivals that. A real standout are the baked wings. It's really a unique sauce and delicious.
Haven't eaten Pizza Hut nor Domino's in over a decade because it's just doesn't taste like anything, being loaded with fillers. I managed a pizza restaurant for 2 years called Mellow Mushroom and it's know for great, somewhat healthy, gourmet-like pizza so I've been spoiled. Beek's is some great, simple neighborhood pizza and in my book, it's what pizza should be.
Food Poisoning. Went there for the first and last time. This place needs help from the moment you walk in to the food giving customer's food poisoning. We have food poisoning the next morning that knocked us out of commission for a few days. With the appearance of the place you have to wonder about the kitchen after this experience. Not to mention the service is less than average.
Pizza like it should be!. Beek's has always made Pizza the old fashioned way, by hand! The flavor and style are "Old School" all the way! No computers, natural fresh ingredients and fast, friendly delivery! Great crispy crust! There are few better!
Local Favorite; Old School Pizza. This place is an old time, family run pizza joint. The pizza is a favorite for sports teams, schools, and groups of all kinds. Pizza is good, thin, and Midwest style. The restaurant itself, in St. Louis Park anyway, is pretty shabby and dark. I prefer to get take out and eat at home.
Does not Exist.. This place is not real. It simly does not exist. We have called at all possible hours to try and get a pizza delivered and their phone is not answered. It simply rings, and rings, and rings...what the hell? I mean if your going to have a phone, why not answer it? or at least get a machine. Feck off beeks.
Old School Pizza Rules!. Old School Pizza Rules! Excellent Crust, Tasty sauce! Great ingredients! Forget the Crappy chain stores. Go with the Better Pizza. They try harder, because they WANT your business!
tasty pizza, crabby customer service.
The pizza is great, tasty wonderful thin crust. The sauce is perfection. They have a window where you can watch them make it. The cheesy bread is delicious, however the salads and other sides are quite plain.
Every single time we've been in the establishment, the woman who takes orders has been very rude, short and unhelpful, maybe I've had bad timing or maybe she's got permanant PMS. The restaurant itself is a bit run down, but its fine for takeout orders.
If you can get over the extreme rudeness the pizza is quite worthwhile. I recommend this place for its great food, but suggest takeout and be prepared to be very assertive when ordering.
Get it to go!.
The pizza was delicious! The service and atmosphere is a not very good. The jukebox doesn't work.
Our waitress looked like she was wearing dirty clothes.
Bring your cash. They do not take credit cards.
All in all though- the pizza is really great. Much better than the Papa John's across the street and the Pizza Hut next door.
Beek's Rules!. If you like greasy thin crust pizza, this is it!
