Your Neighborhood Coffee House. I have been going to this coffee shop for years. Same wonderful owner. Great service, great food and coffee. The employees are the best. They have wonderful seating outside in the warm months. They even have the best Christmas trees around in December! (Who would have thought) :-) I love supporting the local businesses.

Neighborhood Benefits, Cheapest Icecream around.. I really like Nokomis Beach. The owners are very nice and have a friendly rapport with almost everyone who comes in. Half the time I'm there I feel like I'm in a diner scene in an old movie or something because every other person who comes in is a regular. Mostly young kids work there, but it's a good thing becaue it infuses the place with a little youth culture since most of the regulars are older people with children who live near the lake. Coffee isn't as good as Starbucks, but they make up for it with their espresso drinks, iced tea, and cold press coffee, and I'd rather support something local. $1.61 for a BIG scoop of good ice cream is a rarity in South Minneapolis, and therefore a hidden gem.

Way better than the big business Starbucks or Carribou. This place is fantastic! I've been going there since I was a child, and I can truly say that this is my favorite coffee place. The coffee is way better than in the past and the staff is fantastic! They know many of the customers on a personal level just from working there and make everyone there feel great! The cafe just overall has a neighborhood vibe to it, like everyone there knows each other. Their sandwiches are delicious, and the ice cream and pastries have put a few pounds on my frame because I can't stop eating the scrumptious parcels! Overall, I can't get enough of this place!

Nasty Coffee- Teenage Staff. The coffee is terrible. Absolutely not drinkable coffee. This place is ok if you get a bottled smoothie or soda. Outdoor seating is available, dog friendly. The staff has no clue as to what they are doing. This is an ok spot if you were visiting the lake, but whatever you do, DO NOT DRINK THE COFFEE!

Not a gem.. Mom and pop coffee joint but doesn't deliver the character or quality to outdo Starbucks or Dunn Brothers. Mediocre service staff though friendly. Burnt coffee, beans ground in advance and stacked in filters under the counter, sour smelling (warm) half-and-half container, no cold press coffee. Prices are very reasonable but I'd pay more for something enjoyable. I haven't tried their ice cream.

best coffee in the neighborhood. Last weekend I saw Mike Hatch there cursing about the voters in Grand Marais and generally making an @ss of himself. It was awesome! Too much caffeine I guess.

The coffee here is pretty good, but definitely not great. It is however the best coffee that you'll be able to find in south Minneapolis. The place has a nice vibe and plenty of outdoor seating. It's located a few dozen feet away from Lake Nokomis and the biggest bike transportation network in the upper midwest, but it has no bike racks... what's up with that? I had to lock my bike to a cable attached to a newspaper box. It was totally ghett0.

Haha, I had to purposely misspell the word "ghett0" so that citysearch wouldn't label this review as "inappropriate". God forbid we make any mention any of the ghett0es in this crummy town, it might cut into citysearch's ticket sales or ad revenue.

Ok, enough BS, Nokomis Beach Coffee is a nice place. Go there already, but don't ride your bike, or you'll have nowhere to park it.

Warm and friendly neighborhood hangout. Located so near Lake Nokomis this is the perfect place to meet a friend for coffee and take a walk around the lake. Very family friendly atmosphere. The owners have taken great care to extend themselves to the neighborhood and we appreciate it! Food is fresh and good and affordable. Baked bread and sweets come from the bakery just up the street. check it out!

Cozy corner eats. I really like Nokomis Beach. They always have good soups, great handmade sandwiches while you wait, and the staff is very friendly and personable. The owners are "good people" and the atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. It's a nice neighborhood place to eat at.
