Incredible 1st visit. We recently moved to Edina and were told to try Fat Lorenzo's for a great pizza. They were totally right. We waited 20 minutes to be seated, but it was so worth it. The ingredients tasted like they just picked them and the crust was cooked to a soft slightly chewy bit of perfection. We also tried the Gelato Itialian Ice Cream, don't leave there without trying it, you won't be sorry!!

See you soon FL

da best around. this guy disagrees with the comment refuting the claim that Fat Lorenzo's is better than Luce. I live two blocks from the Luce in uptown and must say that I wouldn't even rate it top 3 in Mpls. I would rate Dulono's better even just in uptown. As for Fat Lorenzo's: this place brings the coolest dining environment, the friendliest service and the best tasting grub together better than any other pizzeria in this city. The aesthetics of the place are fantastic with its muraled italian landscapes and cherubs adding a sense of true escape to the dining experience. However I cannot stress enough that this is THE BEST PIZZA I HAVE HAD IN MINNEAPOLIS. No bs, no elite neo-beatnik foodie chef attempts to over spice/over garnish/over combine flavors and toppings. This place does pizza the way it was meant to be done, with a solid, simple family recipe that was formulated to get it right, and therein succeeds.

The yocal that says this place is better than Luce is WAY off.. OK, the pizza here is better than average, but at the recommendation this place is better than Luce is insance. Bland sauce, doughy crust, sparse ingredients, come on man!

It doesn't get any better in the Twin Cities. Not only does Fat Lorenzos have excellent pizza, but they also are in a very cool building with great service.

The staff has been friendly every time I've been there. The crust on the pizza and the sauce are both top shelf.

Good stuff!

Great Family Pizza Joint. This is a great little restaurant to get take out, delivery or take the kids to. Its not fancy by any means, but the staff is friendly, the prices are reasonable, the delivery is quick and the food is pretty darn good. Its not diet....they pile on the cheese! The meatball hoagie is the best in town and I love their pizza sauce!

Its noisy and fun and great for kids.

The other reviewers that are looking for gourmet shouldn't be going to this little neighborhood joint. Leave it to the rest of us in the city!!

Great Hoagie. Pizza ok for a real Italian, but for all american city boy, toppings scarce, too much tomato sauce, little

flavor except tomato sauce. However, the steak and cheese sandwich is 'to die for'. A Hot Hoagie

thats toasted, full flavored, red dipping sauce, a real taste treat. Plenty of melted tasty cheese, don't forget

extra pepperocini's (sp?)....Prices moderate to high for takeout food. Eat in is a questionable experience.

Overall, if you already know what you like on their menu, you're safe.

A lovable little Italian joint serving big pizza, lots of pasta and hot hoagies.. In Short
Chubby cherubs waltz with plump tomatoes on the ceiling, while the dining room is snug with high booths and little tables. Friends, neighbors and families come for red-sauce, old-school Italian-American fare. Everything is big, filling and usually delicious. The grilled stromboli is packed with meat and oozy cheese, and the rich, hot artichoke dip is served with garlicky little slices of Italian bread. The appropriately named Fat's pizza--New York style--is loaded with hand-cut ingredients.

The search continues. I've been searching for the perfect pizza in the Mpls/St Paul area for years and have yet to find it. It was not found here either. The crust was a little thicker than I like, the cheese was bland, but the toppings were fresh and good. There were actually chunks of tomatoes in the sauce, which is good.

If you are in the neighborhood, try it.
