Tips for Broders' Pasta Bar

A Proven Winner. This is one of my favorite places in the state, and I am lucky enough to live right around the corner. The pasta is always cooked to perfection, which is a simple task that is often not executed as well as it could be in many restaurants. The menu is fresh and exciting with new and exciting combinations routinly showing up. If you want classic Spag & Meatballs, you can get a great version of it here, but why not branch out as there flavor combinations are extravagant and well executed. The variety of proteins, vegetables and spices that they work with create a truly unique menu. Don't rule out the Cucina across the street either. They have great take out and Authentice meats & cheese. Try and find a better soprasata in the metro. I've never had an issue waiting for a table (usually because if there is a wait there is wine to be had). Honestly, this place is awesome, call ahead, and you'll be fine. They have a great patio in the summer, spring and fall if your table isn't ready to go. The wait is well worth it, the pasta just can't be beat.

Fabulous and Unique. I have visited Broder's several times and have never been disappointed. Yes, the wait is often long, but the atmosphere and excellent fare are worth it!

Great Pasta Bar!. I love any place that I can go in, sit at a bar, and watch my food being prepared not too far away! If you are lucky enough to actually get a seat in this place, request a seat at the bar, unless you have a large party.

Broders is a wonderful place to sit and have a romantic dinner. The gentlemen behind the bar was very helpful in suggesting things to order and also offered great conversation when we were looking for it. I would highly recommend ordering the roasted garlic, as it was the best prepared garlic I have ever had!

If you do have to wait for a table, grab a glass of wine and sit outside and enjoy the beautiful patio they have set up!

Overall - you will walk into this place finding every seat in the place full, every item on the menu making your mouth water, and a very helpful staff.

The End. After a longstanding with Broders - both the restaurant and the deli - we are never returning. My family and I have been going to Broders since I can remember eating pasta. I don?t live in Minneapolis anymore, but have not missed Broders on a trip back since I left over the past 15 years. Tonight my mother and I went at 6:00 pm ? the restaurant was not full ? there were 6 4-top tables and about 10 seats at the bar available. My mother and I asked for a table, as it is such a rare special occasion to have a nice, quiet meal together. The host said he could not sit us at a table as he was saving them for any parties of 4 that might arrive. There was no one waiting in the lobby. He informed us that we would be waiting at least 30 minutes (there are very few 2 tops in the restaurant ? I have often sat at a 4 top with only 2 people) and when we said we felt like that was a long wait (as there were 6 empty tables) he said ?Try us again some other time.? It felt like it such an insult as my mother who is a local to Minneapolis goes to the restaurant at least every other week that we decided to end our relationship with Broders. We did love the food, but never have been discriminated as a party of ?2? before. It was such an unexpected way to be treated by such a neighborhood restaurant ? we can find handfuls of places with better food and will.

Don't miss out!. Broders is awesome! The fresh pasta made in house, a seasonally changing menu (but they keep the tried and true classics for the ones that are stuck on a particular dish--#11 anyone?) and a great wine list make this a true neighborhood gem.

It does get busy and it is best to call ahead, but the servers make you comfortable with a glass of wine and there is a great patio to sit and enjoy the evening, chat with your dining companions and wait for your table.

Best Pasta in Town. This is a frequent stop for me since it is in my neigborhood, has great food from scratch, friendly service and everyday prices. The patio in summer is so beautiful and the wine list is the most affordable in town. Altogether a great experience. Just call ahead because waits are long!

AWFUL!. To put it simple, DO NOT GO HERE! Salad, horrible. Ravioli, awful. Dessert, ridiculous. And to top it off, the service was lacking. Our waitress was rude, and seemed to be in pain if we ever asked for something, even if it was just a glass of water. Please, dont believe any positive hype about this place. BAD!

Broders the best pasta anywhere in the Twin Cities. Broders is by far the freshest pasta and ingriedients anywhere. The service and price are great, the neighborhood quaint, and you never leave hungry. We love the place and always come back when we want a good meal.

Great pasta. Fun local spot with very good fresh pasta. Cozy up to the bar and enjoy conversation with your dinner date or someone next to you. Very busy and crowded at times, but calling ahead to put your name on the list helps. Check out the specials they offer at certain times of the day.

poor service, ridiculously long wait. I called ahead to put my party of 5 on the list (they don't take reservations for under 6). We arrived an hour later, per their recommendation, and waited an additional hour and a half to be seated. It's a small space, I would NOT recommend it for groups. And if you go with one other person, you'll probably still be sat at the bar in the middle of the room (not romantic or cozy at all). Our server never took our drink order, she just threw water in front of all of us. The menu is tricky to understand if you don't know all the Italian linog, and when we asked, our server was very short with us and rude...no idea why?? After all, WE were the ones sitting for hours waiting to get in, being told we were next on the list. When our appetizers arrived, she set them in front of us and asked to take our order--as we watched food we were so hungry for get cold! At this point, we asked if it was possible to even ORDER beverages, since she didn't seem to care about asking us before. The food itself tasted very fresh, but it wasn't entirely flavorful. Next the server sent us the wrong desserts. We're a very easy to please group and were excited to try this place out with all the glowing reviews I read on here...I was completely disappointed, and I doubt I'll ever go back, and I would never ever recommend it.
