Editorial Review for Broders Southside Pasta Bar – by Whitney Friedlander
In Short
This popular sister of the Cucina Italiana deli across the street offers heaping bowls of hand-made noodle dishes and desserts to anyone lucky enough to get one of the 67 seats. The servers bustle across the burnt tile floor, delivering the goods to the small groups sit at the tables. However, couples and singles go for the horseshoe-shaped pasta bar, where there's a better view of the kitchen.

This is one of my favorite places in the state, and I am lucky enough to live right around the corner. The pasta is always cooked to perfection, which is a simple task that is often not executed as well as it could be in many restaurants. The menu is fresh and exciting with new and exciting combinations routinly showing up. If you want classic Spag & Meatballs, you can get a great version of it here, but why not branch out as there flavor combinations are extravagant and well executed. The variety of proteins, vegetables and spices that they work with create a truly unique menu. Don't rule out the Cucina across the street either. They have great take out and Authentice meats & cheese. Try and find a better soprasata in the metro. I've never had an issue waiting for a table (usually because if there is a wait there is wine to be had). Honestly, this place is awesome, call ahead, and you'll be fine. They have a great patio in the summer, spring and fall if your table isn't ready to go. The wait is well worth it, the pasta just can't be beat.
Pros: execution, flavor combinations, variety, affordability
Cons: can't get enough of it

I have visited Broder's several times and have never been disappointed. Yes, the wait is often long, but the atmosphere and excellent fare are worth it!
