Now called "ABOUT Hair Studio". Yes, they recently changed their name, but the service did not change (it's still superb :). I've been going there for quite some time for haircuts, color and styling. It's conveniently located right off 35W, so it's great if you're coming from work and can hop in for a hair cut, although it's hard to get in for "prime time" (5-6 pm) without an appointment. All stylists are great, it's just a matter of choosing the right one for your personality/style.

Funnily, right next door, on the very corner of Diamond Lake and Nicollet, there is an ancient barber shop, so if you really have no time or feel nostalgic for old 50-60-ties rotating barber chairs and a collection of yellowish photographs on the walls, you can go get a trim there :)

Best Cut & Color in Minneapolis. I consider myself a demanding client of hair salons with very little patience for anything short of a perfect experience. Owner Jennifer takes the time to fully understand her client's goals and desires for cut and color. She fully explains options and the executes flawlessly. She takes whatever time is needed to ensure that when you leave her salon, you look and feel terrific about your hair. The atmosphere of the salon is relaxed and inviting. All of the stylists are professionals who make you feel welcome. Jennifer is also flexible and accomodating with schedules, frequently coming in early or staying late when a client has a special need. This is the best salon experience I've had in the 6 states I've lived in during the past 20 years. I get so many compliments on my hair that I carry Jennifer's business cards along with my own, to pass out to perfect strangers who ask -- "where did you get that great hair cut?". Call Ruben J's (now under a new name - About U Hair Studio) and ask for Jennifer. It will be the best cut & color you've ever had.
