4 year old (Sedgwick installed) furnace was acting up so I called them to come fix the problem. $89 just to come to the house, which is expected. Furnace is still under warranty. Technician tells me the "Board" is bad and has extra one in the van. Tech tells me that the computer chip boards are known to be bad on the model of furnace and carries a lot of them in the van just for this reason. Sedgwick installed this furnace so he's technically admitting they are installing inferior furnaces with junk parts... nice! Tech puts in a "new" Board and spends a total of about twenty minutes in my house. Charges me $289 (Labor) just to replace the board. The Part itself was under warranty but they still have a flat fee of $289 for the service (task to put the board in place). When all said and done, the furnace works fine now, but I'm out $422 for 30 minutes of work. I talked with customer service and she told me they have a rate-sheet they go off of for all tasks done and it is a flat fee for each task done. No budging on pro-rating it for me to cut down the cost. I asked. $289 is extensive for 10 minutes to switch out a computer chip board in the furnace done in less than 10 minutes. Maybe $50 to do this but $289? I've been taken! and I'm letting you know, ask questions and what the prices are and how they operate before calling a technician to come. Don't use Sedgwick, as they won't flex on their pricing system no matter how much you ask. Therefore I am giving them a POOR rating. They were fast to come to the house, but who wouldn't for $422 for thirty minutes of easy labor? So long story short, call around and get some quotes before settling on the company that installed your furnace. Don't go with Sedgwick like I did. They lost me as a future customer because I feel their pricing is not realistic and expensive. I'll spend my hard earned money elsewhere.
Very Impressed with Sedgwick. I just had a new Ac unit installed and could not be happier with the whole process. the response time for repair on my old unit (turned out the compressor was shot) was great. Working with Dan Pahl was great. The price was very competetive. The 5 year labor warranty blew me away. Most manufacturers will warranty their parts, but the labor to install the can be quite expensive. This company stands behind their products. The installers (Matt S) and crew were very professional and helpful, going above and beyond. They added a few professional touches and left my house without a trace. Matt explained to me the reason my old compressor failed prematurely (2 condenser units in 6 years). I wish i would have chosen Sedgwick 6 years ago. It would have saved me multiple headaches and thousands of dollars. If i have learned anything from getting jacked around by 2 other hvac companies, it's this. Use a company that has 24/7 emergency service, and warranty warranty warranty. Sedgwick has both. I have already recommended them to a friend. So in the end Sedgwick gets high praise and my hvac company that left me high and dry gets a letter to the BBB.
Extremely Grateful.
Sedgwick recently installed a furnace and hot water heater for us. They were super accommodating, as well as curteous, and conscientious. The technician, Don, was there installing a water heater for us, and realized that we had an issue with our furnace. He could have very well saved our lives by taking the time to check out the problem. Carbon Monoxide is never anything to mess around with, and we feel very lucky that he was willing to take a minute to check something out that didn't sit right with him.
Sedgwick worked with us to get us into a 95% efficiency furnace, and we are thrilled with how comfortable our house is now. It's never a good time to come up with money for a furnace, or a water heater, but having Sedgwick priced right, and willing to work at getting our stuff installed immediately, was worth every penny!!
I would highly recommend Sedgwick.
Great Job!. A/c stopped working and they responded very quickly. The service guy arrived and within 15 minutes my a/c was running again. Would recommend them to anyone.
Very Reliable!!. We had a troubling issue with our AC and thankfully they came in and replaced our AC system promptly! Their service was top notch! We had many questions beforehand and surprisingly they were polite and very informative. The tech was very personable and efficient. Sedgwick Heating will be on top of my list when I call for heating or air conditioning issues. Awesome service!!
Very Happy. I had Sedgwick out for service on my furnace that was installed by Standard. The equipment failed after only ten years. Sedgwick replaced my furnace and a/c and I have never been more comfortable. My energy bills have dropped as well. They are professional and I would recommend them highly.
Love 'em!!!. My husband and I bought a new furnace from them several years ago and we're still thrilled with it! It was a very easy, well explained process. Absolutely no hassle or confusion. The tech guy was very polite and friendly. You could tell he had a lot of knowledge and experience. I loved the honest advice he offered. You could tell he really cared about what he was doing and offered affordable options. The whole ordeal -- making a major purchase without much knowledge in the area -- was very stressful but Sedgwick helped us out and then some. I will definitely be going back.
Buyer Beware. We bought a new furnace from Sedgwick about five years ago. The salesman said that we could not go to zone heating in our house because new furnace models would not support this feature. So we bought the furnace and lived with a cold lower level. Then last week, the service guy came out to do some maintenance on our furnace, and said we could have had the zone work done all along. He cleaned our furnace to the tune of $350. THE NEXT DAY OUR FURNACE BLEW A MAJOR PART! The service guy said it was just a coincidence, and we had to pay another $600 for the repair. Hmmmmm......Sedgwick has us over a barrel, and I feel betrayed by this company.
good techs. We had Sedgwick install a new furnace and AC two years ago. This year, they installed some new ductwork to even out the temp on our second floor. Plus, we have had regular tune-ups from them. Each interaction with their installers and techs has been great. They are professional considerate, helpful, etc. The tech who did the tune up showed me how to do the maintenance on the humidifier myself because it is cheaper than having them do it. My only complaint is that their call center is a real challenge to deal with. For example, I had to make two appointments because they said I couldn't do both things at the same time. The tech did both at the first appointment and told me it didn't make sense to come back. I canceled
