Great Vietnamese food. I've been enjoying Kimson's food for 20 years, and have eaten over 100 meals there. I've never had a bad meal, and my friends and I all love it. I love the spring rolls, the garlic chicken is amazing, the beef with potatoes is always great, the hot and spicy chicken is wonderful, and the Pho is great too. I think you will love it.
Awesome Service, Authentic Food --A Small Treasure.
From the smiling hostess to the knowledgeable gentleman handling the cashier duties --- another perfect meal at an excellent Vietnamese restaurant that knows fresh veggies, tender meats and the power of the understated French influenced sauces that make everything so special----we go often and always there are Vietnamese customers ( Never go to an ethnic restaurant where you only see Minnesota Swedes)
My husband always gets beef with broccoli with a side of hot peppers----I like several things very much ---Happy Pancake (gets you veggies and lettuce here) --my current favorite is the soft noodles combination (pork, chicken, beef and large succulent shrimp with broccoli, pea pods and carrots in a light infused sauce )
My sister from out of town says their wonton soup was the best she ever had ---
I would find it hard to believe that some one could blame a restaurant because they got "sick" on something they ate the day before -----it takes 24 hours to react so maybe it was that "junk" food --high sugar and fat and not "fresh green veggies"
This is not Chinese food it is NOT high salt, mushy veggies, with a corn starch based sauce ---- rather light and healthy---they have a menu that is also in Vietnamese I want to try some thing new next time
So use chop sticks and enjoy --- you will have enough for another meal ---- love the fact they use a serving plate
Very Good Food!!!. We stop in regularly during the week lunch. The buffet is yummy and the soups are wonderful My husband and son absolutely love the egg soup. Depending when you go, it may be hard to find a table - but well worth the wait. Service can be a little slow, but that's just part of the experience. Become a regular and get to know the great people that make Kimson a pleasure. Take a break, slow down, and enjoy the food!
Dont waste the gas to get there!. This place has gone way down hill! I have eaten there for years and will never go back. When i complained to the Manager she looked at me funny then yelled at the back of the house in a differnt language. She did not say anything to me after i complained just walked away from me
BEWARE TRUTH would be a zero rating, stars are req. I as well had an absolutly AWFUL UNFORGETABBLE experience and will highly recommend to EVERYONE not to waste their time, health, or money at such a rude, rotten establishment. I took my daughters to enjoy some vietnamese food at this place because it was convienently located to where we stay. BAD decision. We ordered nealry $50 worth of food. 1st impression was not flattering as the greeting was by a woman who appears to have no care of how she represented the establishment: Rude. As though asking for chopstix or extra napkins (not suppllied on tables) was an inconvenience to her life. Furthermore once the food was ordered, my children begin eating and were not continuing to eat, rather stairing & poking at it though they didnt complain to me. I begin to eat my PHO soup & the broth, meat & noodles tasted odd. When I said so, my daughters said mines not good either. My youngest (11) said mom, it tastes rotten. So I tasted both meals and sure enough the sweet & sour tasted fermented & rotten. The other was shrimp & rice noodles over cabbage, which also did not taste good, fresh or anything positive. So, we slid our Full plates to the edge of the table and I approached the lady kindly to let her know that we were not pleased with our meals, and we would be leaving, hoping for an offer to make it better or refund-INSTEAD she rang up the full bill with attitude & placed her palm out to take the $50 for rotten food & awful service. I asked her if she would be charging me full price for food we hadn't been able to eat. She said YES-THATS WHAT YOU ORDERED> I repplied, yes but it wasn't eatable. She again held her nad out & said THATS WHAT YOU ORDERED> I told her It was unfair to charge us the full rate for untouched meals. As if that dissapointment wasn't enough, I had an 11yr old crying that her stomach hurt for a few hours afterwards & I ended my evening with vomitting the few sips of PHO soup broth. Please be advised.
STOP!!!!! DIARRHEA ALERT!!!. Ok so I love vietnamese food and especially love hole in the wall places so we thought Kimson would be perfect. WRONG. First of all we walked in and the waitress ignored us for a good 5 minutes before telling us to "two? this way." no greeting, nothing. She sits us down and walks away. We place our order and the food comes pretty quickly except that my husband's meal smelled and tasted funny like something was spoiled. So we tell the waitress and without even looking at the food tells us that's the way it's supposed to smell, it's curry. WE'RE INDIAN. We know what curry is "supposed" to smell like. We make her smell it and she insists that it's normal. We finally tell her that we want to send the food back and replace it with another dish. The food is bland and nothing to be excited about. At the end she brings us our bill and we notice she's charged us for the original plate which was more expensive but before we can say anything she comes by and says "oh wait I adjust the bill" We think ok yay! she's fixing it. WRONG. She charged us for the dish we sent back and the food we actually ate. So we argue about it and things get pretty loud because they insisted that we ate most of the old plate, which we didn't. It was just split into different plates. Another health hazard is the location of their sink where the employees wash hands is about one foot away from the rice cooker that contains the white rice and where the plates come out. gross. I would NEVER EVER go back to that place and I recommend you don't either. I believe they serve old food and things that have spoiled. Their customer service is TERRIBLE. Save the episode of diarrhea and go to Pho 79 in uptown instead. They appreciate their customers a little more.
