Meh.. This place has a unique atmosphere but $2.25 for diner coffee? The clientele is riddled with schizos and the food is mediocre if not overpriced. Sure, it's fun, but two stars-fun. Give this place a liquor license and you've got another club 331.

burgers or breakfest. If you are looking for burgers or Eggs you have found it. They are closed Sunday afternoon till Monday am. Burgers from 1/4lb to 2lbs. Great ranch breakfests.

Dirty Fork!!. Overpriced for a low-class diner type place. My fork was dirty! It had what looked to be cheese on it:( The burgers were ok. Go to Fuckrucker's-- it'll be better and you'll pay slightly less!

Relaxing environment!. I went there for the first time the other day and i really enjoyed my experience. We went at 1am and it was just buzzing. I love how it's 24/7 (except on sundays!). It's rare to see places like this. The service was very pleasant and fast. It's also always nice to be able to watch the cook cook up your order which isn't far behind the counter. All food is cooked right up and fresh. I had a California burger and it was amazing! I forgot how delicious a well made burger can be. Although a little pricey, I definitely plan on going back again and trying another delicious burger.

Classic greasy spoon known for food that favors taste buds over waist lines.. In Short
There's not much to this place--lunch counter seating, a few chintzy booths and some framed prints of mallards. Regulars go for the fast, no-frills service and chats with friends. Everything's deep-fried or cooked with butter, but you didn't come here for a healthy meal, right? "The Flame" is the trademark and namesake: A quarter-pound burger seared on a char broiler, served on a sesame bun with a slice of raw or grilled sweet onion.

Nothing Special - limited Sunday hours. This burger joint is definitely nothing special. It has ok food & shakes, but is very smoky. Also, even though they claim that they're always open, that is not true. The first time we attempted to go there was on a Sunday and they were closed. Their hours are limited that day.

For this time of restaurant, they are average at best. I'm only writing this short review because I was shocked at how many positive reviews it received. If you go by those reviews, prepare to be disappointed...expect an ok experience and you will be satisfied.

BEST food, varying service. Flameburger's chicken strip dinner CAN NOT be beat. And everything else they make is top notch, with good greasy spoon prices. The service can't be depended on though. Late at night (which is the only time we go to Flameburger) cooks will often spend minutes loudly talking to friends before starting your order. Also, some servers will sit down and have a smoke between waiting on tables, or even randomly sit down with you and strike up a "I have had the worst day" speech (they will, however, take good care of you). The place is always smokey, so stay away if that can bother you. Despite all of this, I still go to Flameburger on Central. Their "truck stop" atmosphere can be cozy and fun, they make a darn good meal, and are always open.

One Entertaining Burger. After reading about Flameburger on Citysearch I had to experience it firsthand. We had gone out dancing, came home, sobered up, and decided we were hungry. Hit the road at 4am, drove north and hit Flameburger which was pretty much the only place in Columbia Heights with it's lights on. This place is a dinner theater with fantastic characters. The 2 pissed off truckers drinking coffee, the drunk yokels, the couple in a fight with their 4 year old kid there, the tired cooks, the 18 year old pregnant smoking waitress, and us in our PJ bottoms and jackets. Fun. And the cheeseburgers were greasy and came with a big old mound of fries and fountain coke.

BY FAR THE BEST!!!. The Flameburger is the absolute very best food for the money, the quanity is unbelievable. Best burgers in town. You watch them cook and prepair your meal right in front of you and is served to perfection. Best breakfast in the midwest, hashbrowns to die for, and you have to get the cheese and onions on the hashbrowns its the utimate. They have been satisfying customers for almost 50 yrs.
