Tips for Richfield-Bloomington Honda

February 18, 2013

We bought a new Honda Accord from RBHonda last Friday and could not have been treated any better. Buying a car was never my favorite thing to do for many reasons, but RBHonda made it very easy and fun! We got more than Blue Book for our trade in and were satisfied with the final price of the car. We haven't bought a car for awhile and so didn't know that there are four levels of extended warranties available. I assume all car makers have this now. RBHonda explained the options we had and in the end we did not buy any extended warranty. From my experience so far I would highly recommend RBHonda.

they love your money!. salesman was nice, but it was a facade for the dishonesty behind. they extreme low ball your trade in, trying to point out the tiniest of flaws, then after the deal, they say "what a beautiful car, you really kept it up in prestine shape!" Cash offer and trade were the same crappy price! They did not want to deal, or even pay for the plate fees. Now our traded vehicle is priced 6 grand over what they gave us in trade! And they're internet deal that they say they don't make much on, I figure they got around 4 grand or more on with my research. So, a possible $10,000 on one transaction. That should buy you all the kindness in the world!!! Also, they trap you there for at least another hour so they can hit you with two shpeals on there warranties, window treatment, tire warranties, undercoating, front end shield, and then ask how you kept yours in such great shape!

High Prices. The negative: When comparing your repair costs (timing belt, ball joint replacement) with other Honda garages or repair shops you're very expensive! You make it too easy for the customer to go elsewhere to have their car serviced. And based on repairs done you over-estimate the length of time for repairs and mis-identified the area of an oil leak and severity of it. The positive: Dealing with friendly service staff and the free car wash.

Forced extra warranty on us. Very unprofessional. Our experience with the salesman was fine. Just as we would expect from a car salesman. Then we were sent to the financing department and spoke with a man named Chip. His task was to get us to buy the extended warranty. Through his conversation with us we told him "NO" three times. He would not give us our loan to sign. I am not very aggressive so I finally just caved in so we could get out of there. In retrospect I should have been more assertive, but Chip should have never put me in that position. We have been telling everyone we know that's in the market for a vehicle that they should NOT go to this dealer. There are lots of good places out there and they all have the same deals.

Service was Pretty Much a Scam. I had my Honda towed there after it broke down a couple blocks away. I was told they'd call me before doing any work, but there might be a $120 if they needed to do a couple hours of work to diagnose the problem - I was confident this wouldn't be necessary since I told them the starter wasn't working (it's not rocket science). I showed them the inspection report I had for the car when I was at a different dealer for an oil change the week before. They even used it to type my information in the computer.

Long story short, they called after 20 minutes with an astronomically high repair quote, so I called my regular dealer and two local (non-dealer shops) for quotes. The other dealer was $150 less! I called RBH back and was told they weren't including the $120 diagnostic fee. I told him if that was the case I would take my car elsewhere than pay for a diagnostic fee. Then they tell me I already owe them that. I brought up the earlier "two hours of work" comment and was told that price was for 1 hour. Then I said you called me after 20 minutes - it didn't take an hour. He said his tech went back outside - in JANUARY, in MINNESOTA - for the other 40 minutes afterward to finish (diagnosing a bad starter takes maybe 10 minutes). Needless to say, I was being fed a bunch of BS. I told him not to touch my car, that I'd have another company come get it.

He called back and offered a 10% discount because I seemed upset. At this point, it made financial sense to stay there, even with the ridiculous initial quote. At the checkout, I was given a NEW inspection report along with quotes to fix everything. So, I got to pay them to re-inspect the car I had told them and SHOWED them was inspected 7 days before.

They're crooks in my opinion and I will never be going back there.

Best Place to Buy a Car. After having two car buying experiences and using their service department I highly recommend Richfield Bloomington Honda.

My husband and I went in a few months ago to look for a used car for our son. The salesperson who greeted us was very nice and not at all pushy. We explained what we were looking for and he seemed to genuinely care to help us find the right car. Once we did decide on a car the signing out process which I've had bad experiences with in the past was quick, relaxed and professional.

What really surprised us was when we came back in to their Service department to have some things done to the car which was part of our deal. When we drove in to the garage we were immediately greeted and they had all the information of what was promised. I was happily surprised at the treatment we received, it was as if we had been long time customers and friends.

We were so impressed with our experience that we went back last week for my husband to get a new car. We enjoyed the same great treatment and we now have a dealership for life!

I've never written one of these reviews before but I wanted to pass on our feelings about this gem of a dealership.

What a friendly happy fun to deal with service department. This was my first time to there service department I had gone to some of the other Honda stores in my area and everyone treated me like a number. As soon as I arrived I was greeted by a couple of people. One greeted me with his computer in his hand and we took care of everything right there by my car. While he was helping me the other person opened the hood and topped of my windshield wiper fluid and tested my battery. He gave me the slip from the battery test and said it was good. I had brought my car in for a maintnenace light on B1, they had everything in the computer from my online appointment he showed me around the dealership and showed me the computer and wifi area and I checked my emails while they serviced my car while I was in the lounge the general Manager Tim came by asked everyone if they are being taken care of and even got me some coffee. I was curious to see the shop and they showed me it was clean and they had 2 guys working on my car he said because they knew I was here waiting. The car was done in 25 minutes and they gave me a free car wash and a rewards card that I can get free stuff and earn discounts on every purchase. They gave me a inspection report and told me everything they had checked the car was in good shape then walked me to the car and told me about my next visit. I will always take my car there from now on they make me feel like family like part of the group.

Poor Poor Poor Service.... I bought a Honda Pilot got it home it would not start. According to the service department the battery had been replaced by a battery that was not the proper battery so the connection was not working. I brought it in they replaced the battery... However I had to make another appointment to come in and have them replace the post. No communication!!! Poor service I spent a grand total of 3 and a half hours waiting around!!! WTF!!!

Looked down upon and un answered questions. A sales associate could not answer some questions I had & didn't seem to know much info about a certain vehicle. Before a test drive, he had a hard time trying to get keys. While on a test drive the sales aassociate didn't try to promote the vehicle, only talked when I mentioned something. I returned a week later to test drive the vehicle again, hoping for more time on the highway since there was a short amount of time on the highway from the previous visit, and to find more info about the vehicle. There was only 1 sales person on at the time (afternoon during the week), & it was the same sales person I delt with from my previous visit. He said there were other customers he is working with due back any moment from their test drive, & could only do a quick test drive with me. I said no thanks, and I didn't have a problem with that. I had a problem when A MANAGER looked down upon me when he told me that they limit how many miles go on to their vehicles, & they don't do test drives for joy riding or for fun. I am serious about purchasing a new vehicle & let him know that. My apperance makes me look few years younger than my actuall age, and I expressed how I felt towards the manager on his comment. He doesn't know me at all. Long story short, the conversation ended with him saying there are other Honda dealerships I can go to that can try and meet my needs if they couldn't do it themself. I told him I would be going to another dealership.

A cut above the rest!. Recently bought a pre-owned Honda from Richfield Bloomington Honda and I have to say it was a good experience. After reading the reviews from people on this site I had to question their gentle state of mind. People, you are going to a car dealer, of coarse they are going to try and sell you something, it is thier job. Would anyone be offended by going to a shoe store and having someone try to sell you shoes after trying on a few pairs? Of coarse not! Great people at Richfield Bloomington Honda with quality used cars at a fair price....can't ask for much more than that.
