All you can eat? More like all you can stomach. – Deciding to try the Eastern Buffet last night (12/15/09), was the worst dining decision I have ever made in my life. Not only was the hot food cold, and the cold salad bar food warm, the food itself was not edible to say the least. I would NOT wish the stomach pains my future brother-in-law and I endured on anyone. If you want to put yourself or your friends in the fetal position, then, and only then, would I recommend the cuisine (or lack thereof) from Eastern Buffet.
I never thought I would say ”I would rather be at Old Country Buffet”
HEY, HEY EASTERN BUFFET!!!! – Hey Bloggers, I'm the buddy. If you want some Asian food that's A.O.K., look no further than Eastern Buffet.
General Tso's chicken was juicy and tender, the egg rolls were scrumptious, and the fortune cookies were the perfect happy ending!!!
Delicious! – Me and a buddy rolled in on a Saturday night. The previous negative reviewers must have won tons for brains, because we thought the food was quite good. The dishes were hot and dericious. I would have went back for thirds, but I wanted to save room for tasty beers. Eastern Buffet!!!
Rip off – I ordered delivery from this place as I had gotten a $5 off coupon in the mail. When I called and made my order I told the woman on the phone that I had one of her coupons for $5 off. She said, yes, yes, give me your credit card number. I did so. The food took FOREVER. We're talking over 60 minutes on a Tuesday night. The man came and gave us our food, I went upstairs and realized that they had not taken off my coupon. The total was actually $31 and some odd change. He had already taken off so I called the resturant where I got the same lady on the phone and told her what happened. She said the man who delivered would give me $5 cash. I told her he was gone and she said, "Don't worry, he come back with cash. I call him." Needless to say the man never came back, by this time it was almost 9:00pm and in getting my two small children into bed, I didn't call again. Then when I read my bank statement...I WAS CHARGED $34.29!!!!!!!!!!! MORE than the original bill. Unfortunately I cannot find my original receipt. I would NOT recommend these people. Plus their food was terrible. It made us all sick. I had to throw all the leftovers out.
Worst buffet ever? – So I like Chinese buffets and get a craving for them about once a month or maybe once every couple months. I also give them a lot of latitude with quality as they are value eating experiences and not three or four star establishments typically. With that as context, this was quite possibly the worst food I have ever had at one and I will never go back. A lot of the food was stale and cold or luke warm. The egg rolls were filled with some unidentifiable substance that tasted fishy and had a texture reminiscent of a crab cake (but they did not taste good at all). The spring rolls were filled with vegetables but of comparable quality. Fried dumplings (one of my favorite things) were extremely chewy and looked like they had been out for quite some time. Overall, very disappointing. I suggest you go elsewhere.
Not a Bad Dish in the House! – Okay, maybe the little smiley-face potatoes, but unless you're a kid you didn't try those anyway, right? Who goes to an Asian buffet for smiley-face potatoes? Apart from that, the selection is certainly more than adequate, the flavors delectable and the desserts, despite another review here, better than in most such, for most Asian buffets have quite miserable desserts. This one has the usual little square cakelets, but instead of being spongey bits of flavorless nothings, they're actually good! There is also fruit, rice pudding, almond cookies and sugared peanuts.
But one doesn't come to an Asian buffet for the desserts anyway (though I did rather miss the little custard tarts one can sometimes find). There was seafood a-plenty, duck (with sauce), sushis (a bit stale this time), lovely flakey salmon, outstanding pepper shrimp, and some stuff I didn't try, such as pizza (not Asian!) and fried rice (looked good but not my cuppa). There was enough there to keep me busy and my mouth happy!
I have a favorite Asian buffet and this isn't it. But this is pretty darned good anyway! My only complaint is that the employees are not especially friendly. They're not rude or mean... just not personable. Personability enhances the experience. But the food makes up for it.
Good Value, Good Food – Good food selection. Not too many spicy dishes, but it is catered to appeal to all. Clean atmosphere.
