Winnetka Ave. Shop Location. One of the best shops in Minnesota. I spent about an hour talking to one of the owners (I can only assume he was, don't remember his name, he had a military tattoo on his left bicep) was a wealth full of knowledge and honestly loved comics for the sake of. Its rare to meet someone that passionate about what they do. If your looking for a comic shop that will go the extra mile for their customers, then Hot Comics is it!

Most Confused Comic Shoppe in the Twin Cities..
The biggest complaint I've gotten about this shop from fellow consumers has almost consistently been "where the hell is everything now?" After an unfortunate change of ownership, this shop was constantly being rearranged, or was an otherwise complete disorganized mess. From one week to the next it became a game of Where's Waldo trying to find the new comics shelf. You could never find a damn thing.
They also began making a series of drastic changes to their subscription filling policy. At one time a fella' could get their favorite titles held for them AND get a descent discount for their patronage but these days the discount is no more and a guy was lucky all his titles even made it into his subscription file. Kinda made it seem like loyal, repeat customers weren't of any value to Hot Comics anymore.
After ol' Shinders closed up, things just seemed to get more ridiculous. At one time you could sell your collectibles and old comics to them and walk away with a few bucks, now you'd be lucky to get $20 for the entire run of Wolverine.
And they just kept rearranging the store. It was constant Chaos. Half the employees were great, but some of the newer guys were a bit rude and snarky, less than willing to hel;p you navigate the atrocious mess that they called a retail store.
After getting burned on my subscription several times over (not getting the books I had subscribed to,etc.) I finally just said to hell with and signed up at The Comics College.
Avoid this Shinder's wanna be at all costs.

Great stop for comics. Great selection with friendly and knowledgable employees!! Best shop in the Twin Cities!!
