awesome service excellent food. went there after a salon vist in the area and had a great meal. staff was great and knowledgeable about the menu. Me and my girlfriends will definitley be back.

SMALL WINE GLASSES :( GREAT GUAC. I can't believe how SMALL the wine glasses are! And their wines are pretty limited and unimaginative, yet EXPENSIVE. It's a shame, because the ambiance is great.

The tableside Guacamole is FANTASTIC and the BEST THING on the menu. The rest is hit and miss, but I'd say decent enough for most people. Don't expect true gourmet food though. The menu is also pretty limited, especially in the seafood department.

Perfect for Business Lunch. Visited Tejas at 1:30pm on a Tuesday for a client meeting. Although we were a bit taken aback by the limited menu, it was a chance to try something new. I tried the Chicken and Wild Rice burrito and expected a traditional sloppy burrito. Instead, I received a beautiful presentation of a burrito (with chicken and wild rice) topped with apple, red onion, and red pepper matchsticks. Everything was on top of a mango puree. The flavors were excellent together. This was a light dish that left me feeling satisfied. I would recommend Tejas for lunch again.

Drinks and Desserts NO NO. We chose Tejas for its wonderful desserts rating and boy were we dissapointed. First and foremost the bartender needs a fundamental lesson on mixing drinks. Its not 9 parts alcohol! We had to send back two drinks at a table of five. And then onto the desserts... they tried to be innovative with some dessert favorites and were extremely unsuccessful. I felt completely robbed of the evening. If it wasn't for the attentive wait staff and the gorgeous music playing in the background it would have been a complete disaster

Appetizer Flair, Entree Fair. Came to Tejas after much hesitation since the mister needed a Tejas fix. After hesitation, the gulf shrimp appetizer, white and black bean soup, and southwestern caesar salad was excellent. After the first course, I was excited for dinner. The dinner came, and the food was mediocre. I had the chicken special with a "twice baked potato". Well, it should have been called "twice baked potato skin" since it was all potato skin, no potato, and the stuffing was made of over-powering blue cheese and mushrooms. To top it off, the service was poor for a so-called gourmet restaurant. I found myself needing a refill on my water as the water girl passed me several times.

Guac and Goat Cheese..Mmmm. What a better way to spend a summer day than sitting outside eating chips and salsa and drinking margaritas? That's what we had planned, but didn't want to go to a local Mexican chain. We were pleasantly surprised by the guacamole prepared tableside and couldn't resist the goat cheese ravioli, which was to die for. I will definitely be back to try all the margaritas!

Good, not amazing. Been here twice for dinner. The service has been fine and friendly, and the prices aren't as outrageous as some reviewers claim (They are even offering a 3-course meal for $15 -- how's that for value?) The food is hit and miss. We've had some delightful meals (spiced melon soup hits the highest mark) and some clunkers (over-cooked but very flavorful chicken). The main thing here is that it's not the same old same old dishes at the chains. The menu is unique and innovative, yet comfortable enough to order without fear. The problem is that the execution is hit and miss. All in all very enjoyable.

Never coming back.... I was suprised when I was received by the rudest service staff in the city, right in the heart of Yuptown. Maybe it's because I wasn't wearing a Hugo Boss suit, or even Banana Republic. Either way, I paid too much for a mediocre meal served by a lousy waitress. Yuck.

Simiply Wonderful. Make Tejas a regular stop on your nights out and you won't be disappointed. It does get a bit busy and loud at peak times on weekends, but the food is both creative and superbly prepared. Love the seafood and nearly everything else on the menu. Can appear a bit pricey, but trust me ... it's worth it.

Won't be back. I went to Tejas for dinner Saturday night, on a recommendation from a friend. I don't know what this friend was thinking by giving it a good review. The menu is small, and everything is ala carte-- as in dinners don't come with any sides. Our bill for 2 people was well over $50 with tip, which is fine at most other restaurants, but for a small pork tenderloin with no side dish (just the meat), cold cheese filled ravioli, and 2 sodas, it's horrible. That's right-- no appetizer, no dessert, no sides, and no drinks for $50-- and 2 still-hungry customers. The service was nothing to brag about, and the atmosphere was ok, except for the tables are so close together there is no privacy. To sum things up, there are many options in the metro-- and even quite a few in this area-- take your $50 somewhere else!
