Australian tchotchkes and brews give this quintessentially American restaurant a distinctive Down Under flavor..
In Short
Boomerangs, Aussie flags, kangaroo portraits and faux aboriginal art honor the homeland's wilderness, but Outback delivers a polished version of rusticity with varnished blond-wood booths with matching wainscoting and casually uniformed waitstaff. Besides more than a half-dozen cuts of steak, diners can pick from large-portioned entrees like ribs, chops and shrimp or chicken "on the barbie." The Bloomin' Onion, a large onion dipped in batter and deep-fried, is an appetizer with a following.
Generally I like Outback, but this one should be avoided!.
Generally, I quite enjoy Outback Steakhouse, but the two times that I went to this particular one, I was NOT impressed. The first time, it was just ok, the second time, I wanted to scream.
The food is just barely up to par for Outback, but the waitress we had was the rudest piece of work I've ever had to deal with at a decent restuarant. Something you may expect in McDonalds was more like it.
I asked for my steak "medium rare but not bleeding". She said, "rare means bloody". I asked ,"ok what the difference between medium rare and rare", she said "the amount of bloodiness". I replied, "the last time I was here I ordered medium rare but not bleeding and it there were no problems" She replied the same thing. So, asked what is medium then, she said "with pink". I then replied, "Ok give me medium". Of course I got it and it was totally brown. When I got my steak, I asked for another one, as this one had no pink, she said, "you asked for medium". Whatever, I was irritated by this point. Additionally, my husband got a Corona, the first one had no lime, when he ordered the second one he said, "can I have another Corona, with a lime". She replied, "Everyplace you go, they always come with lime, you don't have to say with lime." Having already been irritated, I asked, "where was the lime in this one then?" Showing her his empty bottle with no lime, she then rolled her eyes and stomped off. When she returned I told her she was inappropriate and rude. I asked to speak to the manager, at which point she said that he wasn't there.
Sorry no tip for you and I won't be returning.
Good Food, Good Fun. I've been here twice in a period of 6 months & have been satisfied both times; first time was take-out only (excellent service!), recently I ate in-house. My waiter was a real darling & took good care of me. The steak was thick and juicy, the baked potato firm and tasty. The pina coladas weren't bad, either! And the coffee was pretty good quality; of all places to get strong coffee, I picked a steakhouse! This place may be one of a chain, but provides value for money and good food!
Do you call that steak? Terrible food.. I don't know why this place even makes the list. The steak and other menu items are terrible. How many times do you have to send it back to the kitchen before it becomes a steak? I sent mine back twice and it was still cold in the middle. If you like raw hunks of meat, then I guess this is the place to go, but if you enjoy a medium rare or better steak, then go to Timberlodge!l
