St. Louis Park hideaway serves tasty Chinese food fast and fresh..
Although it has all the trappings of fast-foodiana, it also has subtle but lovely Asian art on the walls, comfortable black and red booths, real flowers on the tables, friendly employees and a policy of accepting checks.
The generous rice bowls are freshly prepared servings of white or fried rice topped with vegetables and the main ingredient of your choice. If you crave spiciness, we recommend the firecracker chicken, Szechwan beef or Hunan chicken. Skip the sweet-and-sour chicken unless you love goopy, overly sweet red sauce. Order a bowl-and-roll combo, and you get the rice bowl of your choice plus an egg roll. The best starter is the cream-cheese puffs, which are jazzed up by green onions. Another good appetizer choice is the chicken skewers with peanut sauce; the chicken is golden brown and tasty, if a mite dry.
Kiko's has GREAT food. I live in the St. Paul Suburbs and STILL make the trek out to the Knollwood area to go to Kiko's Rice Bowl. This place has quality food. The idea is you get a bowl of rice topped with whatever your heart desires. My personal favorite is the Teriyaki Chicken. You get a GENEROUS portion of chicken and veggies, and the teriyaki sauce is so good I don't need to add anything to it. You can eat in or take-out (they even have a drive through). Kiko's makes your food to order, but offers fast and friendly service.
