The initial purchase of the dress and
first consultation went great. I was told that my dress came in and if I gave a 24 hour notice I could try on the dress anytime. I called on a Monday to book a time to come in that Saturday..I was told that I could not come in on a Saturday because they were too busy. I was frustrated because I live over an hour away and can only make it to the cities on Saturdays....Mary proceeded to tell me "what time would you like to pick your dress up then". HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Once you buy a dress you are nothing too them...goodbye customer service....I WILL NEVER recommend them to anyone!
I only wish I would have taken the initial comments into consideration before going and buying the dress...
I CAN NOT BELIEVE THEM!!!.
I called the Wedding Chapel tonight looking to see if they had a sample of a bridal gown for me to try on, first of all they told me they were to busy to help me over the phone and whoever 'Mary' is said a consultant would have to call me back, okay that's fine I understand, I have worked retail in the past I get it, you get busy.
When I asked if I could expect a call back tonight, seeing as how I am in love with this dress, and I would love to know if I can get it from them, I was told that they close in less than a half hour and she didn't know if they would "get around to it tonight"
**ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! YOU HAVE A CUSTOMER THAT IS WANTING TO BUY A GOWN THAT IS OVER $1000 FROM YOU, AND YOU DON'T KNOW IF YOU WILL "GET TO CALLING THEM BACK TONIGHT" A PHONE CALL TAKES LESS THAN 5 MINUTES!!! ***
UNBELIEVABLE!!
Well looks like they just lost a bride!! I decided to call The Wedding Shoppe in St. Paul, and guess what! They have the sample, I now know where I will be purchasing my gown!
Anyways so I called Wedding Chapel back, telling them not to bother calling me back. I told them I was able to find a sample at the Wedding Shoppe and the woman on the phone at Wedding Chapel HUNG UP ON ME!!!
WAY TO NOT BE PROFESSIONAL!!
Awesome customer service for a picky stylish bride to be!. Well, I'm glad I didn't read the reviews before I went to the Wedding Chapel because it would have stopped me from probably having one of the best shopping experiences I've had for my wedding so far. The shop is outside of the T.C. Metro (I live in West St. Paul) but my cousins (now wife) had purchased her bridal gown and bridesmaid dresses from there a few years ago and after going to what seemed like countless other bridal shops and feeling like I wasn't really being listened to (Ok, I'm pretty picky) I walked in and was seriously in shock at the amount of dresses they have. The orginization is awesome because I knew I wanted a higher wasted bridal gown (I have a short torso) and Dianna, the owner, just brought me to this huge section of dresses all in that style. I hadn't booked an appointment because I was just going to browse on a Saturday (if you go on a weekend def. book an apt!) but Dianna still took time with me and never made me feel rushed or like she had better things to do. When Diana did have to step out, another consultant (she was blond, but I didn't catch her name) helped me along with a bridesmaid group. I haven't looked at the bridesmaid dresses yet, but from what I saw they also have a big selection and everything is reasonably priced. I'm looking for a dress in about the $1,000 range, and there was everything from 600, to thousands of dollars. I know I'll definitely be going back to try on the dresses I loved again and will be telling all of my girflriends to go there for their weddings.
THEY ORDERED ALL MY BRIDESMAIDS THE WRONG DRESSES!. THE WEDDING CHAPEL on Bass Lake Road is the worst bridal shop ever! I ordered my bridal gown there and then my bridesmaid dresses. I sent my sister there yesturday to pick up all six bridesmaid dresses. When she saw them they were all wrong. She told them, "your calling my sister because I'm not telling her this when her wedding is in 11 weeks!" Well guess what they never called me.......I called them and spoke to Monica my bridal consultant. She ordered the wrong dresses for me and said I would need to talk to the owner to get a refund or any money back for the issues. The next day I called Diane, the owner , 6 times and the ladies at the front desk said, "she is in her office talking to vendors and if we knock on her door then we get in trouble." WTF? really? What sort of business are you running? I asked Diane that when she finally called me back 3 hours later after I called every half hour on the dot!!!!!! She said sorry there is nothing else we can do for you but order the dresses again and they will be in no later than July 8th. I asked her to reimburse my bridesmaid a little money for the mistake and she refused to do that. She said, "I am now stuck with 6 dresses because of this." NEWS FLASH DIANE- it was your FAULT!!!!!! At this point I dont have enough time to order from another shop so I went along with getting the dresses mid July when My wedding is in August. I am so pissed I cant even express it. When a company screws something up the least they could do would be to given a littel money back. I cant believe the way they act there. The customer service is horrible and I would not recommend buying anything there. My sister and sister in law have also gotten their bridal gowns there and have had nothing but problems! SPARE YOURSELF THE EXTRA STRESS BRIDES AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. THIS WEDDING SHOP SUCKS AND HAS TAKEN $2000 FROM ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will post another note if they dont order the right dresses again............
not great, not horrible.
the store is very old but they do have a nice-ish selection of dresses. the consultant i had was a bit distracted and scatterbrained. they tell you which parts of the store hold which styles of dresses and asks you to go through them and pick a handful to start with. the consultant does come by to pick them up and take them to your dressing room. when in the dressing room, they you a strapless bra in case you didn't bring one. they didn't tell me this, but there are crinoline slips in the closet to try on with the dresses. i bought my dress on my second visit, so i had a different consultant helping me. the first consultant was given credit for the purchase, however when i brought my bridesmaids back to see the dress the first consultant wasn't aware that i had purchased the dress and very obviously acted hurt that i didn't purchase from her. (i'm guessing for the commission.) i purchased my dress in sept 2010 and was told it would be in the beginning of january, and the (2nd) consultant added a week to the estimated delivery date to be safe since the dress has a lot of detail and would be made over the holidays. my estimated delivery date came and went, so i called the store to check on the status. the (rather unpleasant) woman took my information and said the person who does the buying would call the company and get back to me if they found anything out. another week went by so i called back, and was told the same thing. at this point i was very frustrated that my very expensive dress was apparently missing. finally i did get a call to notify me that it was in. when i purchased my dress, i was told that this particular designer did NOT charge extra for plus sizes, but the day after i purchased my dress they called me and said the consultant forgot to tell me that they do charge an extra $25. i specifically remember her telling me they do NOT charge, but it was her word against mine and they trusted hers over mine and i was charged the $25 extra. as for the designer, they do not tell you what designer each dress comes from and they change the style number to their own. just something to be aware of.
the store offers free storage of your wedding dress as long as you have your alterations done there. however, you are not allowed to remove your dress from the store and bring it back for alterations. you must leave it there. i came in for an alterations estimate on my dress and the prices are on the high side. i am instead using a very well known seamstress in the area, and surprisingly she is much more reasonably priced.
i also purchased a head piece at this store in nov 2010. i decided to order it new since it was the same price as one that had been tried on already, and it was estimated to take almost as long as my dress to come in. when i decided i was having my alterations done elsewhere, i called the store to pick up my dress in april 2011 and realized i never got a call to let me know that my head piece came in. i was given the same story, give us your info, the buyer will call the company, we'll call you back if we hear anything. they never called. when i went to pick up my dress, my head piece was magically found.
to sum up my review, the dress selection is fine (though i think it's shady not to tell you the designer), the consultants are so-so, but the business aspect is poor. i'm so glad i didn't order bridesmaids dresses through them.
Don't Do It. I had used this shop a couple times. Once for a prom, but I didn't deal with the business end. Second time I was a bridesmaid and ended up spending more on alterations then the dress. I was informed it was because I could not keep an appointment because I was sick and since I could not see the same seamstress that caused more work???? hmmm. With that in mind after I got engaged I went to the store because I live close and I wanted to look at bridesmaid dresses. I informed the receptionist why I came in and the first thing out of her mouth was 'have you purchased anything here yet?". I think if there wasn't a sales person behind her she would have kicked me out. I decided there and then for sure I would never go to that store again.
I don't know how they are even still open. Worst experience ever! This place sucks, and is full of the oldest rudest women in the wedding industry. They are just out to make a buck, not to make the bride happy. I am not a diva by any means, and I wish I would have not given them my money. Alterations woman is the worst!!!!!!!! You can tell she hates her job, and that she is not in w/ fashion, or how things should be done. Very impatient as well, thats the last kind of person you want altering your wedding gown. Buyer beware!!!!!!! Not to mention, they need to redecorate!!!!
PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING ANYTHING. First off let me start by saying that I have looked at lots of bridal shops, so I have lots to compare them to. I went there after receiving a gift certicate at the Twins Cities Bridal Fair. There was an envelope that I had to open there to win a free gift. The sales lady showed us where all the differnt dresses were. We had to look for my dress ourselves. She than showed me to the dressing room where my bridesmaid had to help me with the dresses. I thought that this was very rude and unprofessional. I believe that it is her job to look for the dress and do all the work for the brides. What else is she getting paid for? If we are going to be spending $1000 on a dress she should do a little leg work. After I had handed her the envelope she takes it from me and leaves. Not opening it up in front of me. I could have had a free dress in there but got a free vail instead. After trying on 10-12 dresses, I found 2 I really liked. One of them I knew who the designer was and the other one I did not. I asked her who the designer was and she told me she didn't know. I called back an hour later and demanded to know the designer and she told me it was by a company called "Dream Bridal". After I googled them I am very glad that I did not order from them. Dream Bridal is a company that makes knock off dresses. I know this because I emailed the company to ask them if they could make the dress for me. You send them a picture of the dress you want and they make it for you for around $300. The Wedding Chapel than charges you triple the price. There were so many dresses found on that website that I had recognized from Maggie Sotteros website. I would think that this is illegal. To say the least this is our wedding day and the last thing I know I would want to worry about is what quality my wedding dress is. I feel sorry for anyone who has read this message too late.
This is place is horrible.
This place was horrible, they were pleasant when I are trying on dresses and looking. But once my bridesmaids ordered that was the end. One of my bridesmaid call in her order a couple of days after everyone got measured, staff did not order her dress. I rec’d a phone call a month later stating the dress was not ordered!!! They tried to tell me, my bridesmaid did not call. Too bad we had the receptionists’ name, date and time the dress was first ordered. So the dresses were not order until a month later, also they order a bigger size for this bridesmaid, so her dress is huge. This is disappointing since she just married and they made her order a dress 4 times bigger than she is. I was told the dresses would be in at the end of March. March came and went no dresses. I called, and was told “not to worry about it.” I called the next day they informed me they could not find my information. I called the next day and was informed the dresses would be on 4-9-2010. Well, it was 4pm on 4-9-2010, I had not rec’d a call, told my bridesmaid to call and the Receptionist was rude to her and told her they were not it. I called 10 minutes later and magically the dresses were in. Yet, no one call me!!!! They did say I could have alteration done at the store but it would take 4-6 weeks. Really, they couldn’t get the dresses in..Did they really think I wanted them to alter the girls dresses. I asked to speak the manager, and was told “oh she is not in.” They would not give her name. I called to today, the only thing the manger said was “I am sorry you feel that way.” They do not return phone calls, and when you call they are RUDE and tell you “don’t worry about it.’ I am getting married in May I will worry about. They lose the paperwork. They are unable to tell you where your order is. How does this place say open??????
DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!
THE DRESS OF MY DREAMS. I went there with the idea of the dress i wanted... i described it to the consultant and she got it for me... it was exaclty how i pictured it in my mind... and the price was perfect. I had another appointment for another dress shop for the same day and i ended up canceling it because i bought the dress... the ladies that work there were super friendly and helpful.
