Tips for Twin City Vacuum

January 29, 2013

Do not order from this company. They go by Platinum Vacuum online. I think I got Carla on the phone. After waiting for parts for over a week I call, and find there is indefinite backorder, so I cancel the order, and it is agreed, yes it is done, cancelled, will be refunded to my credit card. 2 weeks later I get a partial order minus the backordered part. I call, and even agree , send me a return mailer I'll send it back. They never do, never return my calls, never refund to my credit card, I have to open a dispute with VISA. They are horrible and a scam.

Friendly & Knowledgable. We purchased a Dyson from Target and had problems with it from the start. After speaking with Carla from Twin City Vacuum, we decided it was time to look for a more reliable vacuum cleaner. She showed us numerous different brands of vacuums and their differences before we finally decided on a Riccar which is also made in the USA. I have had my new Riccar for over a week now and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I will recommend all my friends and family to Twin City Vacuum.

Excellent Service. I use Twin City Vacuum often to assist in the repairing and maintenance of my church's vacuums. The service is exceptional., and when I have not received the right parts, they make it right without hesitation. I use enough vacuum supplies to order directly and save a few dollars, however, the convenience and guidance I receive at Twin City Vacuum.fair outweigh any savings I would receive from another source. I recommend them highly..

A Loyal Customer. I have owned and operated my own housecleaning business for 11 years. The only vacuum store that I have purchased my vacuums and product from is Twin City Vacuum. They have competiive pricing and have always provided me with top notch friendly and efficient service. I have always purchased the extended warranty on vacuums but in the event that something was not covered by the warranty, Jeff would always let me know how much it was going to cost me BEFORE any service was done. I live 45 minutes away from this business and I will continue to bypass other vacuum cleaner stores in order to get to this one!!!!

Charged For Service Not Provided. I was also hung up on by Carla, several times. She must be a relative. I do not know why else she would be employed there. She is horrific to deal with. She works noon to 6pm and Saturdays. Avoid Her! The morning guy is not much better. Everything has to go through Jeff ?the owner? and he is seldom available. They had my Dyson for 2 weeks. They failed to tell me my part (the brush) was back ordered. We went on-line and ordered it directly from Dyson, it was cheaper and available. We were charged $29.95 for a filter and $39.95 for service ($72.08 with tax). We got the vacuum back and it was just as dirty as when I dropped it off. They did not replace or clean 2 of the filters. They say they replaced a filter that you cannot see! Jeff said he personally signed off on it. He stands by the work they did. I wanted a refund. He said I would have to bring my vacuum cleaner back in (3rd time there) and they would put a dirty filter in it and then refund my money. They are nothing more than scam artists that do poor work. They do not know the first thing about customer service. Maybe when this family run business started years ago they put the customer first and had pride in their work. No Longer! I dropped my vacuum off on 8/13/11. I wish I had seen Seth?s review posted 8/19/11 first. I would not have gone there. Bottom line is, my husband has ordered all of the parts on-line from Dyson and is going to do the work himself and clean our vacuum plus we are out $72.08. I think my next step is the Better Business Bureau. Please find another place to take your business. Shannon from Maple Grove

Very Poor Service, Indeed. Have you ever been hung up on by a shop owner while explaining (quite calmly, I might add) why you are disappointed with their service? Neither had I until today. Without delving into a page long, point-by-point rundown of the scenario, I'll just say that I haven't vacuumed my home in almost a month and Carla still feels they were in the right in not informing me that the part I was waiting for is on back order.

Though I love the brands they carry and their prices are competitive, I will not be shopping with Twin City Vacuum while they are so dreadfully ignorant of their customers' needs.

Hmm, and I've been shopping for a central vac system for my home . . .
