Horrible food and kitchen service. I waited for over 45 minutes for my food AFTER my boyfriend had his. Then when i received my food there was brillo pad fragments in it. The waiter was great and obviously frustrated and the manager continually apologized. He ended up comping the entire meal and giving me a gift certificated for $20.00, which i still haven't used. I may never. Very disappointing.
consistenlty good food and service.
We're well-traveled, hardworking, middle-aged, middle class professionals who appreciate a good bottle of wine, well prepared food, and good service.
We've visited Timber Lodge on many occasions, at first because it was convenient, but the consistently good food and service brings us back.
More than once, when we paid significantly more at fancier locations, only to comment that swanky ambiance aside, we've had better meals at Timber Lodge at a better value.
The steaks and fish are always perfectly done. Their serving team is seasoned and professional. The salads are fresh and not over dressed, and the wine list is more interesting than at your typical mid-priced chain.
Sunday Evening Steak Dinner. I was very disappointed when I had dinner this Sunday evening (March 21, 2010) at the Timber Lodge Steakhouse in Bloomington, Minnesota. The wait person was excellent. She has served me before, and she always does a great job: warm, efficient, and friendly. The food, which is typically very good was adequate to poor, especially the steak (already described). It will be quite a while before I return to this restaurant for dinner. Unpleasantly surprised.
Rediculous!. Only 2 tables had customers, and it took an hour and a half to get our food! We didn't see our waitress (Amanda) the entire time. The steak was dry like it had been sitting under a heat lamp the whole 1 1/2 hours. Appetizers were all drenched in grease. Probably the worst place I've ever eaten at.
not a cheap lunch.
I was surprised to find out this restaurant was open for lunch. Seating was immediate as the restaurant was half full at best.
I felt the prices were a bit steep for a typical lunch. Especially since I got a grilled ham and cheese sandwich and a drink. I do have to admit it was the best grilled ham and cheese I have ever had.
The decor is your typical attempt at a north woods lodge theme restaurant. Knotty pine everywhere with some token cabiney brick-a-brack.
Overall, I enjoyed my lunch, but nothing was truly stand out.
