I always leave Wally's a happy camper
by celieposterpedic at Citysearch
My sister, Marie, convinced me to stop at Wally's
five years ago, as she and all of the employees of Wells
Fargo frequented Wally's on a regular basis. I was very
pleased with my experience at Wally's . The owner,
Jeff, sat down with us and was very accomodating.
I have gone back many times since then, and I have
always left Wally's very satisfied.
Wally's is Classic - Love It!
by Mike from Bloomington at Citysearch
I love Wally's. The food is good and the service is super efficient .... it's gotta be efficient to get all those hungry customers served and happily on their way. Wally's is a small place so they rely on getting the food to patrons quickly to allow turnover in tables.
You see lots of business people (men seem to really like Wally's) over the lunch hour. I grew up in Bloomington and now work in Bloomington. If the portions are slightly smaller now, I haven't noticed. Besides, I could stand to miss a few calories.
Long live Wally's!
- Pros: Good food with efficient, friendly service
- Cons: It's so popular that lines are sometimes long
Best Roast Beef Around

A changed restaurant

I am also familiar with the line of Wally's owners. When Wade owned it, it was a friendly place to hang out and eat great food at large portions. Since Jeff took over, this restaurant has basically gone down the tube. He, as a person, is low, immature, and a liar. The quality of this restaurant has gone down along with his morals. The amount of meat on his sandwiches has decreased significantly, as well as the menu. I would not recommend this restaurant anymore.
High priced/Poor value

I've seen this restaurant during all 3 owners Wally, Wade, & Jeff Since Jeff took over I've seen the portion sizes go down and the price go up. The amount of roast beef on the bun has been cut by about 1/2. You can see the white bread on the blue plate cause he no longer puts much gravy on. His soup is now filled to about an inch below the top of the bowl. Onion rings used to spill from the basket now you get 5 or 6 . As a former regular you notice these cuts and it's Jeffs way of increasing his profits. Also he's only open 41/2 hours per day. Quality has went down as he now precooks and it sits in the window fries are usually cold and soggy burgers cold and dried out. I know I've seen several people comment on the amount of roast beef on the bun and say they would'nt be coming back. Also Jeff has reduced the menu he no longer offers a fish sandwich and has gotten rid of a bunch of the soup of the day.
- Pros: real roast beef
- Cons: Too expensive
