Small portions but big price!!. I went in for lunch and we were seated promptly. The service was very average and she wasn't friendly at all. The food was ok and the portions were very small. For 2 people with an appetizer, salad, lunch entree and dessert the bill was $80.00 after tip.

Still sesarching for great Italian cusine.

Consistently Good. I have lunch a Ciao Bella at least a couple of times a month and they are good every time. The staff is great, always on top of it without being too overbearing. I have never had a bad meal out of my 50+ dining experiences there and the atmosphere is energetic without being too loud or rowdy. Great place for a business lunch or to get together with friends. I can't think of any other place on the Edina-Bloomington Strip that I would rather eat, including the overrated Kincaid's.

The Restaurant that Has no identity. Ciao Bella has the potential to be a wonderful place to eat.... but truthfully this restaurant has no identity. Could it be that it is sandwiched between commercialism and office space galore? Or is it that the food itself is lacking a distinct identity/flavor? The truth of the matter is that the service staff is trained to make you feel that you are in a first rate restaurant, but truly you are in the middle of Edina, enjoying overpriced mediocre food. If the persons involved with the design concept of the restaurant would have had a clearer vision of what their benefactor (or head cheaf) wanted to expel then maybe the experience would have been more coherent and with a purpose.

Suggestions: the Salmon was to die for. The Wasabi potatoes are amazing. Everything else at our very large table was just mediocre.

Quite Good. Although the location is not as glamorous as sister restaurants Zelo and Bacio. The seafood specials are great as are the pastas. Service can be a bit slow at times, but what's the rush anyway with the awesome atmosphere and decor. A quick note for those of you waiting for 1-2 hours to get into Maggiano's at Southdale ... drive another mile down France Avenue and you'll get a much better meal for the same price (likely without having to wait).

favorite restaurant!. My husband and I love this place! The atmosphere is classy, sophisticated. The food is great, although I must admit, I always get the same thing (fettucine ruspanti--excellent!) The appetizers are not worth the price though, and I wouldn't save room for dessert, but the entrees are very good. My husband is more daring than I am and tries new things, each time he's had a wonderful meal--great lasagne, and fish specials! Nice wine list, too.

MidWest Italian Fare. I love this place but it is not really all that authentic Italian at all, more like upscale, Italian inspired, Midwest food. You get garlic mashed potatoes with everything it seems but The atmosphere is wonderful and the bar is fantastic. Pretty people frequent this place and the service and waitstaff is awesome!

Great Atmosphere, Okay Food. The atmosphere at Ciao Bella is great! The seating is lovely, the oil lamps are romantic, the velvet draperies stunning and the dark wood completes the mood. The service I received was great; the server was very knowledgeable and helpful. I was a bit disappointed in the food though. I found the pasta to be very ordinary and the chicken to be tough. If you want great Italian pasta, stick to your favorites and avoid Ciao Bella. If you're looking for great appetizers, drinks and atmosphere, this is the place to be!

Really Great Bread. Ciao Bella has got great bread! Nice space - good ambiance. You will have to wait if you don't have reservations. We ended up eating in the bar which was crowded, noisey and didn't have very good seating. The bar area would be great if you are looking for a place to have a good glass of wine and yack it up with your friends but it's not the best place to eat dinner. The food was expensive but good and the main dining room looked like it would be nice to eat in. Tables in the main dining room weren't close together and things looked a little more relaxed. I'ld like to try it again with reservations.

Bella!. A wonderful atmosphere highlighted with knowledgeable, friendly, and well-timed service. Stunning architecturally - making you immediately feel comfortable and very welcomed. The food is always delicious and beautifully presented. The best real Italian in the Twin Cities area!
