User Reviews for Teaching Temps

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

Teaching Temps is a great company to work for. You have the opportunity to expand your knowledge as a teacher by having the ability to work at different schools. The office team is flexible with scheduling and location of where I work. The interaction between the office team and the employees is professional. There is an open communication policy in place, which I greatly appreciate. They also offer professional development opportunities. I enjoy the opportunites to work in a variety of different schools. This gives me the opportunity to see a variety of curriculum and teaching styles before I commit to a school. I want to thank the staff at Teaching Temps for a wonderful opportunity.

Pros: Wide variety of opportunities for professional and personal growth

Looking to work with children? Beware of Teaching Temps. They are always posting so I’m sure you’ve seen an ad. Not only will they not pay me the bonus I was assured – twice assured on the same day – but they jipped me on hours I was paid which affected my hourly rate. They certainly can’t guarantee hours but if you aren’t available if they call you’re done. I was fired for not being available to work and not calling to tell them I couldn’t work while I was working for the other temporary service I am working for which I told them about during my interview. I had to call in repeatedly after the interview to try and get work – first they didn’t have one of the phone numbers for a reference which was on the application and resume. Next I get there for “training” which wasn’t paid - and told I’d have to pay the $20.00 fee for the background check. Then they need me to work that same day and I was informed of the $50.00 bonus for working the day of hire – which I have spoken to them about and still not received – it isn’t in any sort of contract so I have no recourse – slime bags. And after I received a letter terminating me – no message from them other than the call about a job they needed filled - I went in to speak personally with the woman I interviewed with. I was treated rudely by a guy who calls in the morning – at the reception desk, not an office - and dismissed. I asked to have the woman I interviewed with call me and I have yet to get a call back two weeks later – I guess I didn’t call that day so they don’t need to call me – grow up. It’s pretty sad that because they don’t explain their system I lose out. They knew I was looking for full-time employment, which I have found, but I wonder how they thought I’d be available for interviews if I had to wait for them everyday.

Pros: worked at great centers with good people

Cons: besides not getting a promised bonus and the correct amount of hours i worked? plenty, read review
