Senser's and TV's.
I write this review is response to TV's being on Trivia instead of the game. I went to the location in Bloomington after work on St. Patrick's Day. I was by myself and sat at the bar. I wanted to play trivia while I had a couple beers and some wings (very good wings here). I was told they would not change the channel because of the NCAA tournament. The games did not start for at least 45 minutes, a Big 10 team wasn't playing, and people were at the bar celebrating St. Pat's and did not seem aware that they even had TV's.
I had my wings immediately package "To-Go". I would say management is not very customer oriented or they lack the ability to make rational decisions.
Recommend only because of the wings.
Like its former Viking owner, this sports bar is a solid player, offering good food in a jock-friendly atmosphere..
In Short
Three sports bars owned by 1981 Pro Bowl tight end Joe Senser draw in people who live, breathe and eat sports. The ambience is definitely sporty, with walls of neon beer signs, autographed jerseys and photos. Most dishes are named after Minnesota sports luminaries: There are Sandy Stevens' Hot Pastrami Sandwich; and Tom Reid's Special (firm walleye, broiled or pan-fried). The crispy, lightly breaded onion rings are a Senser's specialty. Salads and sandwiches round out the menu.
Poor and slow service. This was my third time at Joe Sensor's and it seemed as though each visit slowly became worse. I went out with my husband and his sister--who is under age by the way--and they have a policy that you cannot have an alcoholic beverage with someone underage at the table. I was the only one drinking, and had no intentions of serving to someone under age. Then it took forever for the waitress to take our order, and when we were finished we waited 15 minutes to get our bill. We had to get up and start getting our things together before our waitress even bothered to check back with us. The atmosphere was great and the food was OK. I would recommend this place to someone looking to go out for a drink with friends and watch sports and grab an appetizer.
First Visit. Great service! Food was ok but not hot. Had to wear coat inside it was so cold.
tv's were turned to triva over Gophers. Recently, me and a group of 4 other guys stopped at Joes in Roseville after work. The Gophers basketball game came on we asked the bartender to change the channel on the TV above or table. Thinking we are in a sports bar this wouldnt be a problem after all its the HOME TEAM. Well the bartender goes to the TV/DJ booth and the manager says no way he wants to have the TV Trivia on. We check out the TV trivia 2 guys are playing and not running up a very big bar tab. Also the manager likes to keep the volume down. Needless to say we hit Chilies, at least they give 2 for ones and free chips and salsa for their happy hour and the home game is always on. However if you want a good sandwich Joes is OK its just not a SPORTS BAR
Food & Sports Galore!. Off the bat... a great place to catch lunch/dinner. The people are extra nice, service is timely & well manored. A little stowed away from the daily grind, there are these three sports bars that entertain the hundreds that know about it. Something to check out and tell all the friends about.
