Australian-themed joint famous for grilled seafood and beef, large pints and walls loaded with boomerangs and pictures of koalas.

That Dingo took my beer.
Truly the best feature of Billabongs is their patio. Minnesota summers are too short to waste inside. At least at Billabongs, you can be outside and still enjoy being out somewhere. However, their patio faces west and enjoys a majestic view of the parking lot. So be prepared to get a nasty glare in the afternoons. The food is average in quality, huge in quantity and has decent flavor. I would recommend having their staff prepare a special order of their hottest buffalo wings. They have a unique recipe that is unlike the standard wing fare you can find elsewhere.

don't expect anything.
What a disapointment. My wife and I went on a Saturday Afternoon for drinks and food. We sat at the bar and it was several minutes before the bartender waited on us. He was more interested in watching TV. When we got our drinks we had to ask twice for a menu. After over 15 minutes of waiting to have our order taken I said forget it, the bar was filthy anyway. I paid for the drinks and left. The place wasn't even busy...now I know why.

Great Waitress.
I have been to Billabongs several times in the last few years. Although it can be difficult to get a table in the bar at Happy Hour if you get the right server its well worth the effort. We consistantly get great service from the Veteran Waitress's. Kathy is our favorite. She is on the ball and although I am not a real regular she knows what I drink and remembers my name. I do notice the bartenders can be a bit slow and sometimes a little short. We truly enjoy Billabongs. The food is awesome and the drink specials are great!

Billa-BOMB!.
How do they get a chicken breast 1/32 of an inch thin, and then cook it for 20 minutes until it is dry as a bone? Maybe that is the Aussie way, but it is not my way. Shoe leather with buffalo sauce is probably tastier.
Worse, though, was the poor gentleman seated behinded us who had a ramiken of ketchup spilled all over the back of his shirt and down his khaki pants. He was oblivious to the wait-person's faux-pas and no one bothered to tell him. Hope he didn't have to pay $12.00 for his paper thin chicken sandwich!

self-serve????.
A member of our party had to go BEHIND THE BAR and grab waters and ketchup for the table because the waitstaff prefers to hang out in back and not assist the customers. We waited...and waited...and finally had to help ourselves!

Not for Dining Anyway.
We thought we would go in for "Happy Hour" and dinner on a Thursday about 6pm. It was too hot for outdoors dining so we opted for inside. The greet staff was not personable, just "smoking or non." We said Non. When I asked the waitress about the Happy hour specials she said we couldn't have specials in the Dining area.(!) So only smokers get Happy Hour specials? It went down from there. The dinner was brought out before we even got 2 bites of salad. the shrimp was good but the potatoes that were mush and heaped tasted bland. I would not recommend this place, too bad.
