Going down hill fast! Worst service. The staff was busy complaining and talking to each other. Food on the lunch buffet was cold. Most of the entrees were gone or very little remaining. We won't be back!

Worst Service. My sister has been going there for ten years and I’ve been going there for 6 years at least three to four times a month. Food has been getting worst, as it’s become commercialized, the taste has become very inconsistent, one time you go it’s good the next time it’s un-edible.

Today we went and had the worst service ever. They forgot about us, the tables that came after were served and almost done before we got the food, but not after asking multiple times. 45 minutes later, we told them we are leaving and they brought the food. I was so ticked off, decided not to take my plate.

I was charged for mine, even though I didn’t take it, and when I indicated don’t worry about it I will pay but it’s my last time there, the response was “There are other places”.

Too bad, the place was good when they were not big and the service used to be good.

Pleasant Dining Experience. Dined last evening at the Tea House. We hadn't been there for years and before it had changed ownership. There were two menus, one which was more American-Chinese and the other Szechuan. We ordered from the Szechuan and had the family tofu, triple kung pao, and steamed sole. The waiter was very nice and informed us the fish would take a while and that the other two dishes would arrive first, which they did. The food was very good and when the fish arrived, it too was very good. The prices were a bit high, but based on the type of food and attention to detail in the preparation, I think it was on par. To sum it up, a nice restaurant to go to for very good food when the occasion fits.

I won't go back. So disappointed! I have been here a few other times and enjoyed the food however; last night (Friday) the food was the worst food I have ever paid for. I ordered shrimp egg foo young which is one of my favorites, it came looking and tasting like 3 doughy meatballs with tiny shrimp, water chestnuts, mushroom, what looked like canned peas and carrots and a thin, flavorless gravy poured over the top, It was awful! My husband had orange chicken which was suppose to be spicy, only to be a bit dry and chewy with not much flavor. To be fair the wonton soup was great and the service was ok. I hope they were just having an off night and they improve but... I'm won't go back.

Never again. This was my first visit. Ater I ordered and paid, the host told the manager that one of the tables had waited twenty minutes without beverage or waiter. Ten minuests later, the diner and family complained and left. The owner was unconcerned.

My take out meal was fogettable. Decor is old and worn out. This is in a has been strip mall.

Authentic Chinese. When I entered I thought it was going to be horrible. I've been to China so its hard to please me. I had just been coming from a movie and i thought i'd try it out. I was seated by a kind server who helped on what to order. I decided to try they're American Menu first. I had the tiger pork. Lets just say i thought i was eating in china again. The food was sooooooooo good i ordered three more dishes and brought it home to my famly. They loved it. i always go eat there before or after a movie. I even only got to the movie theater across the street so I have an excuses(I problaly shouldn't need one)

The real deal. My wife and I came in on a Monday night at 6pm and were seated quickly and without much hassle. The wait staff were all very friendly and very attentive. Based on previous posts we ordered the juicy buns(a must) which was as good as what other diners had reported. We had lemon chicken and kung poa beef for entree and both dishes were outstanding and the portions were large enough for two people.

Great food, great prices we'll be back

Best Chinese Food Around!. I can't count the number of times I've been to Tea House, but their food has become a staple in my diet. :) I haven't met a meal there that I haven't liked. The Kung-Pao Chicken and Garlic Egg Plant is to die for. Yolanda (the owner) is amazingly nice and their staff is some of the friendliest I've seen. I would also recommend their catering. I am currently employing the Tea House to cater for my wedding and Yolanda has been extremely accommodating and helpful during the entire process; I can't wait to have their food at my reception! The reason I gave them 4 stars is because there are times when it is so busy and it seems as though they're understaffed, therefore the ordering and receiving of the food takes longer. But on the whole, Tea House is the best! :)

Food is so Close!. The tea house was my favorite spot in Twin Cities for Chinese. They are very, very close to good authentic food. I've heard that in the past they were better but the chef left. That may be some of the reason why the food has gone down. Service is good, ambience is ok and the food is close. I would go again if I was on that side of town and wanted some decent food. Avoid the buffet at all costs it "typical". Want the best, go see little szechuan. Tea House has a sister in St. Paul and it's actually authentic. My vote still goes to Little Szechuan for most authentic in the state but the sister shop to Tea House in St. Paul is a VERY close second. Keep it up guys you are still Heads above any other Chinese Restaurant for authenticity.

Cold, Mundane buffet. 12-27-07

Although I had never been to the Tea House before, I had read many good reviews. I arrived at about noon, the place was busy and I found a buffet right at the front door. I thought that the buffet would be a good way to sample the variety of foods offered. All the food I tried from the buffet was cold as were the plates and even the egg roles. All the food tasted the same even though it had different ingredients. I may try this place again on a take out basis but never again for a cold tasteless buffet.
