Great food with fun friendly service, with the cheapest drinks around!. I have stopped in at the Ole Piper Inn numerous times and have had the same experience if not better each, and every time I have been there. The food is exceptional with the cheapest drinks around. The atmosphere is fun and very casual with some of the best service I have every had. I definately recommend stopping in for a few.

Never Again!. My friend and I decided to try the Ole Piper Inn's Bar one evening on a whim, because they had Bar Bingo, and they were relatively close. I got there a few minutes early and found that all of the tables were pretty much occupied and/or squeezed together - it seemed to be very popular with "the locals" - but I found one small, dirty table open with two wobbly bar stools.

When the bartender finally got around to taking my beer order, she tipped her head at me and called me "Sweetheart" in a very loud and obnoxious tone (she had to be at LEAST ten years younger than I am). I was kind of shocked she'd talk to any new customer this way, like "my kind" wasn't welcome there. I'm pretty open-minded, generally, but this was no welcome.

I witnessed another couple come in a bit later, who didn't seem to be "regulars," either. They sauntered up to the bar, where there were actually a couple of stools open - although nothing together - and not only did the "regulars" outright ignore these folks when they were tapping them on the shoulders and politely asking if the seats were taken, but I saw people grab the stools and bring them closer in to them! I couldn't believe it. The snotty bartender never said a word, and people just looked at them like they had two heads each.

I finished my beer very quickly, informed my friend who just walked in about it, and she almost couldn't believe me when I told her about what I witnessed and how I was treated. I offered the couple our table and informed them loudly that I'd witnessed what those fine bar folks did to them, that they were welcome to our table, although I wasn't about to recommend that they stay!

I won't be patronizing this bar again.
