Just Wow. I was there last week with my friends. Its been a different decor now. New furniture and completely new look. I just love it. I ordered chicken tikka masala, samosa and Garlic Naan. My friend ordered vegetarian dish and we shared that. The food is just yummy here. I have tried many indian retaurants in twin cities but Jewel is just the best for me. Real Jewel , I should say.
Nice Indian Food. Jewel of India was recommended by my friend for catering, so i went there to try the food and it was simply great. so i had the catering done by Jewel and everyone at the party liked the food and quantity was good at minimum price. Would love to have go there again and again.
Its really a Jewel. Nice location and very good food. Music is also very nice and Chicken Tikka Masala is exceptional.Would love to come here again and recommend it to others to go and you would love the food.
Best Indian food in Town.
I went there last month with my family and Friends for Dinner. I have to say that I had food in other indian restaurants like taste of india and India Palace but they were no where close to Jewel in food quality. I have to say that this is the best indian food i had this year. I had heard about Jewel before, but never tried their food but when i tried it, it was awesome. They also have free parking behind the restaurant. I loved Lamb Rogan Josh along with Taj mahal beer. My Friends ordered Dal Makhani, Tandoori Chicken, chicken platter, pakora, aaloo gobi (along with some other dishes that i don't remember now) and they all loved it.
I went their again for the lunch and they had buffet for lunch. there was one dish in the buffet that i did not liked but rest of the dishes were good. i had Mango lassi which was very good. and then in the end they had kheer for the dessert. I would love to go there again and again and recommend this restaurant to my friends also.
I 've had better....
I went there with high expectations, however, I was disappointed in a way. Don't expect the best chicken tikka masala, the nam was less than ok...in fact i had to use a napkin to dry the oil out of it.
There was only 1 waiter who was also the cashier, so it was very messy when it came to get and pay the bill.
Completely misleading. I saw that Jewel of India has Sri Lankan food, so I decided to go try it out. I have never felt so mislead. The website said that they have "the freshest, most flavorful Indian & Sri Lankan food in the city" but the food was not fresh AT ALL and they didn't even have any Sri Lankan dishes. Where are the hoppers and the cutlets? Since they didn't have wait they advertised I tried some of the Indian food, and I've definitely had better. Sambol, over in Eagan, has authentic and really good North and South Indian food and ACTUALLY has Sri Lankan. I plan on going there next time I need real authentic Indian and Sri Lankan food.
Welcome to India!. The food was delicious. The garlic bread was perfect. The Tandoori Chicken was a bit different than I've previously had, but it had a good flavor. My husband had the Jewel Lamb. The sauce was savory. We had khee samosas and chicken pakora for appetizers and the green chutney (I asked for the name, but I have forgotten what the name of it is) was wonderfully flavorful. The restaurant was pretty sparse in flamboyance, but it was a cozy little place for couples, my husband and I and one other couple were dining at the time. Their were several people who had come in to order take-out and appeared to be frequent customers. I love this unpretentious little jewel of New Delhi. The staff were ever-gracious to my husband and I , even when my husband spilled sauce all over the tablecloth. :) The prices are very reasonable and even better with a Happenings coupon. For dessert, I chose a mango lassi, which was perfect. This had been my husband's first time trying Indian food, and he loved it. We will be planning a big family dine including our extended family members, soon. I give this restaurant 4 stars! :)
Wonderful food. Very very tasty, and generous portions. My favorite is the Lamb Biriyani and Garlic Naan. I ordered mine mild, so I don't know how well they do spicy, if you're into that. Service was speedy and cheerful, although I've never been there during a peak time. I plan on going back often!
Chicken Tikka Masala from Heaven. We had take out 3 nights in a row from this restaurant because it was so good. The Chicken Tikka Masala was divine, so much so that we had it twice, with samosas and naan bread. On the third night we shared a Rogan Josh with samosas and naan. Enough food in one entree for 2 to share with the appetizer and naan. Best samosas we've had in a long time (and we live near little India in Chicago) chock filled with veggies in a very light pastry. The staff very polite and friendly. Great value. Highly recommend it!
