Huge Italian restaurant in Seven Corners offers plenty of pasta and focaccia pizza..
The Scene
The inviting, two-story space features exposed brick, gold and burgundy walls (University of Minnesota colors?), and posters and paintings of Italy.
The Food
The menu is inexpensive, as is the small list of Italian wines. Although carpaccio and mussels are on the menu, Vinnie's doesn't try to be upscale. Ingredients are fresh, but the sauces tend to be mild. The pastas--spaghetti and meatballs, fettucine Alfredo, shrimp fettuccine, tortellini rosa--offer the best value. Entrees include three types of steak (Florentine, pepper and filet mignon), and weekend specials often include fish.
