Tips for Tails Up Dog Training

The best school for your best friend!. I'm the proud owner of an adult rescue dog that was once emotionally and physically abused. It wasn't long after I adopted him before I began seeing the full impact his past has had on his ability to trust people. Through word-of-mouth, I heard wonderful things about Tails Up Dog Training in Burnsville, MN, and I immediately enrolled him (or more accurately, myself) in an 8-week beginning obedience course. I also met with the owner, Kori Bevis, for a couple of private sessions to gain a better understanding of my dog's behavioral issues. I was instantly impressed by both the immense knowledge and genuine dedication of Kori and her team. Kori has been working with animals since she was a child, and it shows. Her equally experienced team of trainers are as enthusiastic and passionate as she is. They are believers in the scientifically-verifiable power of positive reinforcement, and they're willing to work one-on-one with people until they achieve the relationship they want with their dog. The results I have seen with my own dog's behavior are astounding. At one point, Kori even recommended that I see his veterinarian about the possibility of hypothyroidism; imagine my amazement when the lab tests confirmed her suspicions! I would highly recommend Tails Up to any dog owner, whether you're looking to enter top competitions, teach your companion basic commands, or mend a battered soul.

Tails Up training. I really liked this school! All the teachers were wonderful, would drop everything just to answer your questions, and would help in any way to make your dog a much better, well behaved companion!

I really liked the location as well. And they have a 2 -week board-and-train program that sounds wonderful!

We bought our puppy in June, and brought him to Puppy Kindergarten. It was fun, educational, and we both (the humans, and the puppy) learned a lot so we have a jump start for beginning obedience!

Great, great school!

A good start for dog training. This training center has an excellent location. Very easy to find, plenty of parking, and room to let the dogs be outside before class begins.

We got our puppy in July and decided to go here for puppy class because of the location. We had received mixed reviews from friends, saying that the experience depended on the instructor. Our instructor was very nice, helpful and clear. We liked her very much.

We feel that we did get a lot of good information from this class, and it was definitely worth doing.

What we weren't thrilled with was the large size of the class and distractions from multiple classes going on at the same time. If I had it to do over again, I would choose a more intimate setting where the puppies could have a chance to focus and learn during the class.
