A Hidden Gem. The server we had was also one of the cooks and the amount of passion she and the other servers shared while explaining each dish that was put in front of us was amazing. I felt like I was on one of those cooking shows as a judge! I thoroughly enjoyed bone marrow for my first time ever as well as pork tongue tacos! I am amazed at the quality of the food as well as the creativity behind each dish. This place is a hidden gem in a not so fabulous neighborhood!
Truly horrible service.
I originally posted a review on their Facebook, because they have no contact email. They went on to delete most of it, since the length made me have to put much of it into the comments of the review-- goes to show how poorly they treat their customers and reaffirms my feelings about their service and practices.
Our experience was completely dreadful. The waitress literally admitted to forgetting about us after two dishes (she didn't return for 45 minutes), they didn't pair our first two wines (we ordered a wine pairing) and brought them out after the fact (umm.. thanks?), then went ahead and ignored us AGAIN between the fourth and fifth dishes for an HOUR to make for a grand total of a THREE HOUR VISIT... and it wasn't even busy. No attempt to make amends, and the rest of the diners looked similarly disenchanted.
Stay far, far away from this place. They don't value your patronage and wouldn't deserve it anyway with service like that.
Order your burger well done.. Heard really good things about this place. But I have to say I was less then pleased when I left. My burger was undercooked and not that tasty. I think I will head to my old stand by burger. Ikes!
Gourmet food in North Minneapolis! Who knew?!. As a middle-aged single woman, it is sometimes hard to feel comfortable at a nice restaurant so I stopped into the new Victory 44 for a quick bite and a beer. I left feeling like an old friend! Rolf, the server explained some of the highlights of the menu and was attentive and concerned about how my choices were - and they were excellent! I had the English peas on toast and Dragsmith greens - a very fresh and refreshing salad, unlike any I have had before. Ryan, the manager stopped by my table to welcome me and make sure things were as I expected, and I reassured him they were not - they were better! Topped off with a recommendation from Rolf from a great selection of beers and fabulous dessert, I had a great, leisurely meal in my own neighborhood. After hearing about their breakfast from enthusiastic Rolf, I had to go back the next morning and again was very pleased with the tender and flakey biscuits topped with savory sausage and gravy. My only regret is that I haven't had a chance to get back yet there to sample the rest of the menu!
Bistro-pub offers a casual intimate setting and good grub.. North Minneapolis, or NoMi as it’s been dubbed recently, just got a restaurant makeover with the addition of Victory 44. A small bar that looks out into the Camden neighborhood greets visitors. And high-top tables fill up with residents looking for a good sandwich, a good beer and bar snacks like Scotch eggs. In the dining room, low-hanging single lights and wood floors and tables give the restaurant an instant European pub vibe. It’s a fitting ambiance for a small, cozy neighborhood joint where diners nosh on Reuben sandwiches, sausage rolls, fish and chips and other European-inspired fare.
