By Far The Best Kept Secret in Minneapolis!. It feels like you are in one of the most run down areas of Minneapolis, but then you walk into Donnie Dirk's and you are blown away. It is funky yet classy in a retro 40's/50's, punk, with a side of zombie infused decor. To top it off they have upscale custom drinks but in a delicious luxurious way, not in a snobby way. I've gone there about a dozen times and every bartender, every time has been friendly attentive and has made amazing drinks. It's getting more and more popular and it's a small space, so get there early!!!!!!

Kitsch bar for the living and the living dead.. Stand Up Frank’s is resurrected as a kitsch bar for the living and the living dead. If the last remaining zombies from “Shaun of the Dead” created a hipster “zombie” bar, it might look a little something like Donnie Dirk’s Zombie Den on the cusp of downtown/Northeast Minneapolis. A zebra-print rug and faux-fur walls beckon visitors into the land of the kitsch and the Vegas undead, where bartenders in red ties and female severs in long goth dresses serve up stiff drinks in Tiki-bar-inspired mugs. With a shot of rockabilly, a giant wink of irony, and a large dose of kitschy-cool, this zombie den attracts after-work crowds, first dates, hipsters and neighborhood dwellers—all of the living kind—for a night of good times that last well beyond the dawn of the dead.
