Not a Great Experience.
If you're looking for a property management company or a company to rent your home, I would personally NOT recommend Minnesota Home Rental.
At first, the process to initiate a request online to list your property was great. This was followed up with a next day visit to take photographs and discuss rental criteria. The photographs and advertising avenues seemed great given the amount of interest I had in my property.
I felt that the recommend rental value though was underestimated leading to an influx of telephone calls because of the pricing. I would've preferred to be in the middle somewhere but this wasn't a big deal.
The showing process is completely handled by the property owner and not Minnesota Home Rental.
The background check and credit check process began the slowdown in service. This process took several follow up e-mails to get finalized. As soon as a I sent an e-mail though, they had the information ready. But why must I have e-mailed to inquire about status?
After approving an application, I had specific requests around the lease. I wanted a couple addendum items and further clarification in the lease. They did not allow for any customization whatsoever. They claimed the process and language was automated and what they had was what they go with. Please review the lease prior to working with the company. Also, this lease is setup for a digital signature which I did not want. They agreed to collect a physical signature but didn't actually follow through which was very frustrating.
I also had a request to collect first month's rent AND security deposit at once. They agreed but also did not follow through on this. Once they collected their fee of one month's rent, they completely wiped their hands clean.
Follow through, communication, and value is what one should seek in a rental company. I don't feel as though Minnesota Home Rental had this.
