DON'T SHOP AT ALLURE – I expected a lingerie boutique experience would be outstanding. Instead it was a big waste of time and money.
The gal measured over the awful bra I was wearing that day and fitted me as a 36B. Odd, but ok.. it's been a while for me. I mentioned I was looking forward to finally having a properly fitting bra, and she replied, "There's no such thing as a properly fitting bra. You just want one that feels right." That should have been my flag to run out the door, but I really needed a new bra. I bought the most comfy 36B she fitted me in that day, but it just didn't feel right at all.
Days later I went to Nordstrom for a fitting. They measured me as a 34D and sold me the most comfy bras I've ever worn in my entire life. They also showed me how a bra should fit!
I will NEVER shop at or refer anyone to Allure. I wanted to give it zero stars here, but the system wouldn't allow me that option.
Allure is Great!!! – All I can say is go to Allure!!! A great selection of real women lingerie and friendly people.
Pleasantly Surprised – I grew tired of Victoria Secrets bad service and super model image so I went to Allure. I was pleasantly surprised by their wide variety of choices and the brands they carry have a good reputation for quality. The prices were a bit higher than what I am used to but the comfort and fit was perfect for me. I think you'll enjoy the assortment of lingerie and service at Allure.
Excellent Service – I've been a customer of Allures for quite a while and it's exactly what real women need. I've visited Allure in both Milwaukee and St Paul and have had great experiences every time. They always have a nice selection, it's private and the ladies that work there bend over backwards to get you the right fit. They have a great selection of pajamas and robes too. I always look forward to a visit!!!
Terrible service – I went there on Sun, March 7 with a friend who had wanted to get fitted. I figured that since they "specialized" in (rather pricey!) lingerie, they would do a good fitting. Well, I was wrong. They fitted me incorrectly (though I took their word at the time) and I purchased a $75 bra. It was way too tight, and today I went to return it.
The "regional manager" (their "region" has all of ONE store) was VERY rude to me. I explained that I am leaving the country in two weeks, and that since they fitted me incorrectly, I should not be held to their VERY STRICT return policy. She was like "oh well, too bad" and would not refund my money. When I asked for HER boss' name, she refused to give it to me. So much for customer service.
In this day and age, a $75 bra is a LUXURY (and I regret spending that much on it) and they should be providing better customer service than that. Victoria's Secret has better bras, and MUCH better customer service, than this place.
