Extremely Disappointing. I went to LensCrafters because of their reputation, which I now think is largely unearned. The eye doctor I saw on my first visit was fine, somewhat distant. She gave me the exam and I put money down on lenses. They arrived in two weeks and were thick, uncomfortable, tough to put in and take out, and the correction was worse than the contacts I already had. They'd made poorer contacts that were less comfortable.

Upon my return visit, set up to check me out so they could deliver the remainder of my lens order, I was running late and called ahead. It was fine; they said they were running behind. I arrived ten minutes late and proceeded to wait another twenty minutes, during which time I watched the staff deal with another man who had been held up by their scheduling issues far past his comfort zone. He was getting the same lenses as he had, but the staff insisted he stay until the doctor could check him out with the contacts in. Rules. He tried to negotiate, but the staff would not bend. The situation resolved itself when the doctor came out to see him and took him back. When they returned after a brief exam, the doctor breezily said, "We'll see you back here in one year." The man responded that he would never come back.

That made my decision clear. When I was taken back, I told the assistant I did not intend to have the doctor examine me and asked for a refund of the money I had put down. The refund will be delayed until their "insurance coordinator" can get it taken care of.

I cannot in good conscience spend money at a place that considers its rules more important than its customers' time and absolutely refuses to accommodate them when they have been made to wait. Also, I did not receive a quality product the first time, and I do not have any confidence in the quality of my prescription. I will never return to LensCrafters and would not advise anyone reading this to do business with them. The one star is required by CitySearch; I was not able to give zero stars.

Worthless. I felt like the eye doctor I saw was completely disinterested in me as a patient, and in general his support staff was borderline incompetent. They also only keep a marginal variety of contact lenses in stock, so I'm unable to get my new Rx before I leave in a week for a month long business trip. Literally the worst service I've ever gotten at a lenscrafters, and as soon as I get my prescription I'm never going to one again anywhere in the country.
