A Hidden Treasure and Great Prices
by Sophie16
I recently revisited The Day Spa with a gift certificate from a friend. I was not prepared for the new updated look....it is very nice. Clean, contemporary & comfortable. I was also amazed at the level of great service I received and a bit shocked to learn my facialist has been there over 12 years, the massage therapist over 10 and I believe my nail tech also over 10. It is hard to find long term staff like this in the spa world. For me, that is all I need to know about receiving good service & having quality managment. My nails still look great with no chipping after nearly 4 weeks and I am now hooked on a great new organic skin care line. Anyone who has had bad service due to inexperienced or unhappy staff will find The Day Spa in Edina a hidden treasure with reasonable service rates.
- Pros: Location, Staff
- Cons: Parking was busy
Bad customer service

Results of treatments very poor, esp. tanning and eyelash extensions. Management unwilling to work with customers in reaching a satisfactory resolution. Certainly not worth the price they charge.
amazing and relaxing services!

I have been getting gift certificates for my mother to The Day Spa for years. She absolutely loves getting services done there and constantly raves about their facials, massages, and pedicures. Recently, I received a gift certificate myself and went in for a spa package with three of my girlfriends. First off, I have to say that if you haven't been into the spa lately you should know that the spa looks much more amazing than it did a few years ago! It is warm and welcoming and I love the "spa-like" atmosphere that some of those "salon-spas" lack (no noisy hairdryers is a definite plus!). Being a busy mother, the facial and massage were just what I needed to fully relax. The pedicure and manicure we're also GREAT and in this time I also got to socialize with my three friends and completely enjoy myself! The staff here is very friendly and accommodating. I have been to The Day Spa many times since and I keep having wonderful experiences. I definitely plan on booking more groups again in the future, as well as other appointments for just myself, and I would recommend this spa to anyone!
A Spa For Everyon

When my husband bought me a gift certificate for The Day Spa, I was terrified. I did not want to go to spa for skinny women and feel out of place and uncomfortable. The reason is because I am overweight and often feel uncomfortable in places without bigger chairs or tables. However, my experience at this spa made me leave with a smile on my face. Every chair I sat in was comfortable, every table I layed on was just the right size, and every staff member made me feel comfortable and welcomed. My visit was so wonderful I had to thank the manager for such a great experience. From now on, I hope my husband buys me a package at the spa for every special occasion!
one of a kind

I have been going to the Day Spa since I was in high school, and have always felt right at home. The front desk is always friendly, helpful and makes me feel like I am a valuable customer. The employees there, whether it be for nail or waxing services, are personable and reliable. They are very knowledgeable and willing to ask any questions. Lately they seem to be re-designing and renovating, but it looks wonderful each time I arrive, and the changes are fantastic! I especially enjoy their new makeup area, and if you go on the weekend there is a make-up artist there to give you a free makeover and answer any questions. I believe her name is Lynn or Linda...she is a doll!!
Relaxing oasis for lunchtime workers, nestled beside a bustling shopping center.

In Short
Conveniently located in a busy shopping center, the Day Spa is almost always filled with ladies stopping in for lunch-break beauty fixes. Service providers are prompt and ready to help with anything from a two-hour Hauschka Luxury Treatment or a 10-minute quickie massage. The spa has several signature treatments that use the ultra-luxurious Dr. Hauschka line of skin-care products, including the Harmony Treatment: a combination facial and foot treatment.

This is not a relaxing Spa, very noisy, too small. I expected something much nicer in this nice of a shopping area.
- Pros: Lunch was good
- Cons: To Noisy, Poorly organized
I'll never go back

I've been getting massages here in the Twin Cities and around the world for 20 years and the WORST experience ever was at the Day Spa. I'd like to know where my "masseuse" was trained. Her hands were clammy and her touch so light that it was irritating, not relaxing. When I asked her to apply more pressure, she said, "That would be the DEEP TISSUE massage" and quoted me an additional price. Unbelievable. Service at the front desk has been inattentive every time I've gone to use a gift certificate I received to buy makeup, and they are pushy salespeople who don't know their product lines. I'll never go back.
- Pros: free parking
- Cons: poor service, anxiety-inducing, unprofessional

ive never been to spa before, so i guess this place was normal. however, i didnt like manicure because she was old, loud and kept talking. i was thinking like, oh my gosh, stop what youre doing! i can do this better than you! anyway, i had no idea why i had to pay her money for the worst manicure ive ever had! me from toronto, canada and my friend from moorehead went there on friday, so it really was quite busy and loud outside while we had full body massage like someone else said.
