This pedestrian-friendly mall--made famous by Mary Tyler Moore--is downtown Minneapolis' top shopping district..
In Short
The open-air mall is home to tree-shaded benches, lovely fountains, a farmers' market in summer, street musicians and a number of big-city-caliber shopping options. Marshall
Field's, in the 700 block, is the historic anchor and a local institution. Sharing the Seventh Street intersection with Dayton's are Gaviidae Common (with Saks and Neiman-Marcus) and City Center. At Ninth, the Polo/Ralph Lauren shop and Crate & Barrel are notable. In the 1100 block, Peavey Plaza provides a nice place to relax.
