Get outside the city for a day of antiquing and a night of fine dining.

In Short
Stillwater boasts plenty of high-priced boutiques, fancy restaurants and recreational endeavors--all wrapped in majestic restored-Victorian chic. But above all else, Stillwater is about antiques. Popular haunts include the bric-a-brac boutiques in Grand Garage and the Brick Alley Building (both at Nelson and Main streets), recreation purveyor P.J. Asch, the Mill Antiques and the Midtown Antique Mall. The Dock Cafe and the Freight House offer excellent views and tempting menus.
A great crowd in a scenic river town
by TaylorRoot
Stillwater provides a little of something for everyone. If you do not enjoy the natural beauty of the river and surrounding hills, you can shop, eat, and enjoy the excellent crowd watching. If you want a change of pace from the yupscale Minneapolis crowds, you will find it here. Families , couples, and the ever present bikers, provide a wonderfully diverse crowd.
- Pros: Scenic, Many activities, Good for all ages
- Cons: Crowded at times
Surprisingly lively

Good restaurants, interesting stores and galleries, fun events- it's not just an antique town anymore.
