Mediocre sushi at value-meal prices.

As someone mentioned in a review I read earlier, it's best to think of Sushi Express as fast-food sushi.
Similar to a fast food joint, Sushi Express is quick, easy and cheap. The taste is acceptable, but not anything to write home about. The sushi, although made-to-order before my eyes, did not taste fresh to me. A little rubbery, a little stale, a little off. I attribute this to ingredients that are not fresh.
When the price-value equation comes into play, this restaurant is an acceptable substitution to fast food... somewhere I'd visit alone or with old friends, not a place I would want to bring a date or my parents to.
- Pros: Quickly-made sushi at a great Value
- Cons: Forgettable; Ingredients not of High-Quality.
Good sushi for the convenience and price

Good sushi for the convenient location and the reasonable price. They usually have some pre-made sushi in coolers, but will make whatever you want fresh.
I highly recommend the the spicy tuna roll (which is probably only spicy to the Minnesota palate) and the Dynamite Roll (which to me is slightly spicy). I also like their cold octopus or squid "salads".
It's not a Saji Ya, but for the convenience and price, when you're in the Stadium Village area, it's a good option.
Sadly, since they share a parking lot with the Burger King and other stores in that area, the parking absolutely sucks.
- Pros: Fresh rolls are good, convenient location
- Cons: Awful parking

In Short
Offering fast food for sushi lovers, Sushi Express doesn't waste time with decorating details. However, the standing bar at the window overlooking Dinkytown offers great people-watching. Striving to make sushi economical and convenient, it offers miso soup for a few bucks, an 11-piece Tokyo combo for less than $10 and the popular California roll (nine or 12 pieces) for about $5--all in just minutes.

It's wasn't bad, but it wasn't outstanding. The people were nice and the rolls were good if they made them fresh (just ask!) The miso soup was ACKY, but the noodle soups were good!
Great for if you're broke and craving sushi.
- Pros: cheap!, quick, good service
- Cons: miso soup
Worst Sushi in Minnesota Award!

Dry, Rubbery, chewy, just plain bad is how I would describe this Fast Food Sushi attempt. It is recommended to AVOID this shop, buying Sushi of the cooler at Rainbow actually tastes much better!
- Cons: yucky sushi
