Helped me find the one
by hennavb5
I had a good experience. They staff was very helpful and kind. They helped me find just what I was looking for. . They had a variety of designer gowns. I told them what I wanted and they brought me dresses until I found the one. Other salons I have been to told me to look through the racks and pick out on my own. I personally think prefer them to pick out options for me. It is true, most gowns are above 1500, so depending on your budget this may not be the salon for you. So far I have had a good experience. I hope the fitting and alterations go just as well!
excellent service!

Unlike all of the other reviews here, I had a wonderful experience at Macy's Bridal salon. I walked in, easily booked an appointment on the spot, and was treated very well, even though I was looking at the lower price points. The cheapest gown I tried on was around $800. The sales associate even let us go into the back room in order to look through the racks of dresses ourselves in order to make sure I had tried on everything I wanted to try. Macy's was the first and last place I looked. I was able to buy a lovely Vera Wang floor sample that had been discontinued for a fraction of its original retail price! This was a great dress shopping experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking to buy a designer wedding dress.
- Pros: friendly and helpful
- Cons: slightly expensive
First store I went to and dissapointed
by Orchidsforu
I went to macys because they had a couple of the designers I had looked at online. When I came in for my appointment, I gave some pictures to my sales lady and she said in a snotty tone, "we dont have any of these dresses." I was ok with them not having the styles that I was hoping to try on, but the sales lady was not pulling any styles that were similair. I tried on about 6 dresses and ended my appointment. The dresses I looked at were way too expensive and they did not even look that great. This was my most dissapointing experience while out shopping.
- Cons: Not very helpful, very expensive
Lousy Service, Very Expensive

This was probably my least favorite salon. I knew this salon was a couture salon and that the prices were going to be higher because they had a lot of silk gowns, but when I told my sales lady that my price point was around 1,200, I could tell that it was going to be hard to find a dress in my budget. I think I would have spent more on a dress if I really liked it, but I felt like the gowns were overpriced for the quality of gowns I tried on. The value wasen't there for me. I didn't have the best experience, but maybe its because my saleslady was not the best.
- Cons: Lousy Service, Expensive
DO NOT GO HERE

I do NOT recommend going to this salon! I had my alterations done at this salon (I had bought my dress at another Macy's bridal salon in Michigan - which, by the way, is a FABULOUS place with WONDERFUL employees). The day my dress was to be picked up (supposedly finished), just 5 days before my wedding, I found my hem HALF COMPLETED, the lining hanging out, and the dress still too long. After two additional trips back to the salon (30 miles each way), I was offered as compensation $30 for a tank of gas (total cost of alterations was almost $300). WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU PAID $30 FOR A TANK OF GAS!? Employees I encountered were neither friendly nor understanding. Don't waste your time or money!
Over Priced and Under Staffed

I tried on a couple of dresses there and only found one dress that I was interested in. It was $6,000. I did not have a problem paying up to $3,000 for a dress, but $6,000 was too much. My sales helper only helped me for a bit and was ok when she did help. I think there were understaffed and over priced. I made this appointment in high hopes of finding a couture gown, but left dissapointed.
Better Off Alone.

Arrived on-time only to find they were already three appointments behind and took several minutes to even be greeted by someone, then she quickly disappeared. Finally got in to see bridesmaid dresses and they only had one brand out due to a trunk show. We were handed off three times and finally landed a saleswoman who had been there for 15 years and told my maid-of-honor that she wasn't "a size 6." Ugh.. I would never recommend this place to anyone! We would've been far better off on our own or, better yet, not there at all!
- Pros: Validated Parking, Plenty of Other Shopping
- Cons: Staff, Selection, Prices, Wait
Good Selection, Clean Shop, Nice Location- High Prices

I liked this shop, but when I did some checking around I found out that my dress is less expensive elsewhere. I also thought the staff was okay, but not very friendly.
Find to-die-for designer gowns out of the pages of "Elegant Bride" at this couture salon.

In Short
Consultants are like ladies-in-waiting with flair at this appointment-only shop. They'll spend an hour or more chatting with brides-to-be about their tastes and styles before the lucky gals even step foot into these bedazzled beauties. A-list designs by Vera Wang, Reem Acra, Ramona Keveza and others can be had, although they often take four to six months to arrive.
