Really good food
by bitlucky
We loved the momos! As someone who can't have dairy because of allergies we found this to be a good place with reasonable options with and without dairy.
tasty........mmmmmm
by natina2
the food was excellent and very full of taste. nothing was bland.yet it did take a while for the food to get to our table, but it was worth the wait!!!!
i recomend the chicken chau chau ....the noodles and the best dumplings (momo)i ever had were very juicy and the sauces that went with them had the perrfect zest
try it you will like it!
- Pros: food,flavor
- Cons: wait for the food
good food, lackluster buffet
by peacereaper
The first time we went here, I fell in love with the food. My boyfriend thought it was just ok and I begged him to return. We did and decided to try the buffet, which was disappointing. They don't stay right on top of keeping things filled and fresh, and perhaps what they put out isn't the greatest held in a buffet. It is a bit expensive, but I think it's a fine place if you order off the menu when you want to splurge a bit. I don't remember having problems with the service, but I'm writing this review of the experiences we had months ago.
- Cons: buffet, price
little gem

I can't say anything bad about Everest, I love it! I've brought lots of different people to this place and they have all enjoyed it. It's quaint and eclectic and makes me feel as if I'm in Portland visiting my family! The blend of spices and flavors is amazing! I love food from this region of the world, but this has it's own twist! Where else can you get goat bone soup and yak? I usually show up for the lunch buffet so I can try something new each time, but I do have my favorites, the momos and the goat soup, at least I think it was goat soup. There were so many things I looked at tasted and maybe it was some sort of soup and I had some goat meat! Either way, I loved it!
- Pros: Good location, near Macalister College lots of window shoppping and things to see.
- Cons: parking is limited to a small lot behind the building or street parking
good food, long wait

I actually just stopped by to grab some take out. They said 10-1 minutes. Ended up being more around 25-30 minutes.
I had the lamb curry, which was very tasty. I was pleasantly surprised that the spicy was actually somewhat spicy (as that is rare in MN). For what I got I felt $15 was simply too much, at $10 i would love this place. As it is there are a lot of places out there that are better and have more interesting dishes at this price point.
- Cons: very banquet style, no intimacy, you stare at kowalski's
Great, if you like waiting 45 minutes to eat.

My boyfriend and I went here yesterday for dinner. We arrived at about 5:30, sat down immediately, ordered our food the first time someone came to our table, and didn't get our food until 6:15. The dining room wasn't even near full, so I have no idea what took them so long. The combination dinners look like they're meant for two people to share, but they only give you one cup of daal (which was tasty - but I have no idea whether it was authentic because it's the first time I've ever tried daal). We got the shrimp curry and the cauliflower curry (don't remember their real names), both of which were O.K. We ordered them Mild+, which was actually too hot for both of us.
The food was alright, but the service was bad enough to make us never want to return.
Worth a try

Good food. service could be lot better. Not as spicy as Indian food but spicy enough for your exotic taste.
- Pros: Good food.
- Cons: Pricey buffet and poor service
Authentic Nepali food
by epi001
We really liked Katahar( Green jack-fruit) entree. We have not found anyother place which serves it. Tasty vegetarian momos comes with spicy chutney.
- Pros: Authentic food
- Cons: Sometimes service is slow
Humble ingredients are taken to new heights at this Nepali restaurant.

In Short
This sunny clean corner shop brims with energy, crowds and reasonably priced fare. Photos of snow-capped Himalayas grace the walls, and the two rooms are filled with happy folks, chowing down and conversing. Menu highlights feature potato/pea samosa, Tibetan dumplings and Nepalese curries. There's also momos: steamed or buttery pan-fried dumplings of herb accented meats and vegetables. The fine daal-bhaat (complete curried meals served with basmati rice) are filling and come with dessert.
Cold Soup

We spent $3.95 per person on the Daal soup and it was cold. Food was okay, but it tasted too much like Indian food. I didn't see what was special to Tibetan/Nepali food.
