Ugh, No, Why?
by sarabennett
This place is foul. Ask to take a tour. If you're not offended, well... maybe you deserve to eat at this trashhole. Otherwise, avoid... for your health.
- Pros: You might not die.
- Cons: You might die.
Best Raw Food Around (Only Raw Food Around)
by Alphafood
Today I visited Ecopolitan Restaurant for dinner for the first time. I had checked out their website and expected a bigger place. However I found the diner room quite cozy and quaint . The decor was warm and had a friendly feel, but the music playing in the background didn't match the theme. It sounded like hip hop, then it later changed to country. The server was pleasant and polite and helpful explaining any questions that we had.. Now to the food, I ordered the bruschetta appetizer for myself and my wife. It was good, but to small and had room for improvement. The downside was the onions needed to be diced smaller and the serving size increased. Moving on to the entrees, we decided to go with the flaxseed tostadas. It was delicious, the flavors blended together quite well, with two exceptions. Big pieces of onion and the salsa lacked any life. It was very bland, adding a pinch of sea salt and a dash of cummin would had given it the life it needed. For dessert we had smoothies. They were good, however my smoothie arrived about ten minutes after my wife's smoothie.
- Pros: Best Raw Food Around
- Cons: Room for improvement (Chef taste your food before it leaves the window.)
Minnesota's first restaurant to serve organic, vegan, raw food.

In Short
The quiet, mellow atmosphere suits the simple, super-healthy food in this apartment building-turned-restaurant. Folk music plays as young hipsters and the health conscious dine on raw, vegan dishes (the theory is that food loses some of its nutrients when cooked). Everything on the menu is organic. Starters feature guacamole, served with fresh salsa fresca, and hearty salads like the strawberry-spinach mix tossed with pecans and sunflower seeds. Creative entrees include zucchini "noodles" topped with sun-dried tomato and strawberry marinara.
The most delicious and unique dining experience!~

Dr T., a man of vision knew what he was doing when he opened Ecopolitan. I have enjoyed so much on their menu, the food isjust that wonderful. I have enjoyed just about every dessert they serve, the savory pie, the lasagne, they have a strawberry spinach salad that has a place in heaven. I can dine here guilt free and in sheer bliss, the taste sensations and organic vegetables and fruits make for one happy palate.
The staff have always been friendly also, which just adds to the experience. Words don't do it justice, one must go there and experience it first hand
Forget everything you know about food

This place ROCKS!!! I go there every time I'm in MN, which is quite often. My current favorite is the Savory Pie (it's an entree, not a dessert). Raw carrot cake is amazing, as are most of the desserts. When you eat here, the flavors burst in your mouth and you forget you are eating raw food. You also feel GOOD afterwards, not stuffed and lethargic. Another thing I love is how willing they are to share a smoothie recipe or tell you what type of kitchen gadget they used to do something. My only wish is that they continue coming up with more cool dishes to try.
- Pros: Food, Products, books, Environment
Innovative and refreshing change of pace

Ecopolitan has a wonderful and diverse menu, and is a refuge in the Twin Cities for the health-conscious, vegetarians, and anyone seeking a change of pace in dining.
- Pros: friendly, relaxed, congenial
Healthy, beautiful and delicious food

I am not a vegan, vegetarian, or raw foodie, but the food here is astonishingly fresh and the menu is much more varied than I could have imagined given that it's all vegan and raw. The delivery is purposefully slow, and other diners have an unnerving tendency to join in your conversations, but the things they do with vegetables here are truly beautiful. Sit outside if it's nice; the inside tends to get very warm in summer.
- Pros: freshest ingredients, large portions, varied menu
- Cons: chatty patrons, too warm inside
