Can you believe they let people SMOKE in they're so called family friendly restaurant. I had the pleasure of ordering their all you can eat crab legs, this was a BIG mistake. The first order was a full order, but it was medium warm and the legs were soggy as if they had been cooking all day long, there was no crispness to any of the legs and the meat, when there was meat, was stringy. My second order they brought out contained just two portions of legs, again warm, soggy, and stringy. I ordered a third helping hoping the first two were just flukes, but this time I only got one portion of legs. Remember when I say portion I mean just the five legs that come together. When the waitress walked by (she was good) she said, "is that all you got, I am going to order you another order, I am sorry." I thought this fourth order would be better, nope, I received just one more portion of warm, soggy, and stringy crab legs. I can't believe I actually had to pay for this lousy meal. I should request a refund. ***This place is a complete RIP OFF !!!***

Pros: None

Cons: Food, Price

My first experience with Axel's came at the Tavern in Loretto.and it was disappointing. The place had a saloon/dance hall sort of decor, loud and gaudy with a weird white tile floor but that would have been O K had the steak been great. Unfortunately it wasn't. I ordered the Land and Lake which was an 8 ounce filet cooked rare and a pan fried walleye filet. The filet was dry and mealy and didn't generate one drop of juice. The texture of this steak didn't lend itself to a rare presentation. Now I know that a filet is not the juiciest cut, but really. Maybe I should have tried the Porterhouse at $38, nah. The walleye was a perfect cut with a nice thin breading but it was sitting around for several minutes after it was cooked and/or not fried in a hot enough pan. It came out cool and the breading was not even near crispy. So much for their specialty. Although this wasn't a cheap plate, $32.50, I guess you get what you pay for. Next time I'm looking for a great steak in the western burbs, I'll pay the ten dollars extra per plate and try the steaks at Gianni's Steakhouse in Wayzata.

Good enough place to eat and comfortable, but prices seem too high for the overall product. Service was good, but we felt like we were almost bothering them.

Pros: Nice place

Cons: Price, service

We didn't have reservations, but still got great seats in a nice booth. I had pizza (delicious!) and the best martinis I've ever had! I rarely seem to get great service, but our waitress was great: not hovering too much or rushing us; timely with refills, etc. The decor was unique, but I liked that it was dim and somewhat romantic. Upscale without being too pretentious, and we didn't feel out of place even though we weren't dressed up. Some of the entrees seemed a little expensive (that's why I went with the pizza) but otherwise a great place!

Pros: martinis!, good food, good service

Cons: some prices

First trip this February was great! Waitress was very friendly and knew the menu, checked on us, but not too often. The food was excellent! Bull bites are a must try and the walleye was the best I've had. My girlfriend got the quarter roasted chicken, she loved it and for $8 probably the best value on the menu.

Pros: Menu Variety, Service, Food

Cons: Small Beer list

The service was wretched, and even after asking, we never got refills on our drinks. The I ordered the same thing two different times and the second time it was hald the amount as the first...rude waitress and the ambience was not that great.

Although my girlfriend and I have had several full dinners here, we look forward to a drink and an order of Bull Bites on Friday nights. Simply put, they are awesome.

We enjoyed our time and meals when we were at Bonfire in April. The Buffalo Bites were awesome as well as the rest of the entrees. Our seven year old daughter enjoyed her Kids Prime Rib so much the it 'melted in her mouth'. She said that it was so good that it almost put her to sleep. The atmosphere was interesting and comfortable. It was a fine place without the stuffiness. We will be back when we are in the area. We're glad we chose the Bonfire for our dining expereince.

Pros: No waiting, Easy access, Great food and fun

Cons: None

The service I received at Bonfire on Mother's Day was absolutely horrible. The wait staff was rude. One came over and tried to explain that since we came she couldn't be cut early. It was ridiculous. The didn't bring us silverware, even when asked. The food was ok, but the service caused me to leave with a very bad taste in my mouth. I would avoid this restaurant at all costs.

Pros: decent food

Cons: service
