Been in Atl. forever, great selection of used music but still firmly rooted in the 80's with NO website and NO phone or mail sales! I asked as nicely as I could if they could take major plastic and ship an LP but no dice, their market is walk-ins only. Hard to believe in this day and age... Super place if you live nearby, basically worthless if you don't!
Pros: Selection of used music
Cons: No website, phone or mail sales

ONCE UPON A TIME ...WAY BACK IN THE DAYS ... LATE 80'S...THIS ALANTA ICON WAS OF A LEGENDARY STATUS FOR US YOUNG PUPS... AND WE WERE HAILING FROM METRO ATLANTA OUTSKIRTS LIKE DULUTH,NORCROSS,CHAMBLEE,DUNWOODY, DULUTH,LAWRENCEVILLE...BASICALLY HICKSVILLE B.F.E. MAN...BUT THE REPUTATION OF WAX SPREAD FOR MILES AND MILES...AND IF YOU WERE SERIOUSLY GETTIN' INTO PUNK OR "ALTERNATIVE" TUNAGE VIA 1987-1990...ISH ...YOU FOUND THE WIDEST VARIETY FOR THE BUCK! I'M HONESTLY SHOCKED THAT THIS BEACON OF MAINSTREAM RESISTANCE HAS'NT BEEN GOBBLED UP BY THE YUPPIE OPPURTUNISTS THAT DESTROYED THE ORIGINAL COMMUNITY WAY BACK WHEN JUNKMAN'S DAUGHTER WAS GOBBLED UP BY PRINCESS PAMELA'S...IF YOU WANT QUALITY EVEN MINT VINYL...YOU'LL MORE THAN LIKELY FIND IT HERE!
Pros: GOOD NEW+USED VINYL, OLD SCHOOL STAFF, TRUE VINTAGE VIBE

Over a decade ago, I was in this shop weekly, prowling through vinyl and finding great things. Wax N Facts hasn't changed much since then, except perhaps they're selling fewer weird imports than they once did. Maybe the store is hampered by its size: until they can clear out some of this vinyl, they won't have room to expand their CDs, and some of this vinyl will never sell. The L5P neighborhood has lost much of its charm and I actively dislike going, but that's probably just me being old.
Pros: History, Staff
Cons: Parking, Location

Generally the term "wise guy" would come off as rather facetious, but in this case, it is meant as nothing but a genuine compliment. The guys who've been there since 1975 (?) are amazing ... they've been able to tell me immediately whether an album i had been searching for was in their collection of several thousand records and whether it's still even in print. If they don't have it, and know where you can get it, they're always more than happy to point you in the right direction. It's true they don't even own a computer, they won't be able to look up what you're searching for on "their system", but they are a goldmine of obscure and worthwhile information. Perhaps they've not got the "friendliest" of staffs (but compared to the majority of L5P, these guys are angelic). Their vinyl selection is awe inspiring. They come highly recommended.

Looking for vinyl? Can't find an oldie but goodie? This is the place to look. Staff is familiar with the inventory, so, ask for help. Also a good place to trade or sell vinyl. They have cd's as well, both new and used. However, the vinyl is dominate here.
Pros: loads of vinyl, knowledgeable staff, good prices
Cons: a bit musty, parking challenged

Okay, so there's nothing particularly 'hot' about this store, but it is a pretty solid little music shop. I field the employees here to be generally friendlier than at some other indie record stores in the area and the selection is pretty good. Love browsing the used vinyl section -- always find something I've been looking for for a while.
Pros: Good vinyl selection, Friendly help, Knowledgeable staff
