terrible service decent food

The food was fine on the night my mother and I ate at Cornell's (she was a guest at Embassy Suites and it was too cold to go outside!), but the service was abominable. We were seated by the hostess and given the choice to sit by the cold windows or at the table next to the waitstaff's station - we took the table next to the waitstaff's station, but seated ourselves so as to not have to look into it.
My mom had a burger and thought it was good - she liked the onion rings she ordered, but I thought they were a tad soggy. Soggier than I'd like. The pan-fried walleye I had could have had a crisper breaded exterior, but it wasn't overdone and neither was the summer squash I received on the side. I also had mashed potatoes and was nervous I'd find overly-salted gravy, but I was pleasantly surprised.
For hotel food, it wasn't too bad.
