Never again

I had been a frequenter of Solera because of their great food and wine selection. I took my family there whie they were visiting from Chicago, a group of 10 people. My dad ordered a bottle of wine, they didn't have it, and so without giving us a menu again the server made a suggestion for somthing similar. That similar bottle happened to be over $100 more than the original. I understand an upsell of $20 but 100??? I was so appalled when my mom told me later what happened, my poor father was too embarrassed to admit he couldn't afford it, but too late! When I tried to get the wine reimbursed later for him, it was hell trying to get a hold of the manager. I will never go back because they didn't try at all to win us back... I am furious and embarrassed that my dad's only experience of Minneapolis was getting ripped off.

• Pros: great place in downtown to get some good apps and wine
• Cons: Upselling wine from a $40 bottle to $150

New Desserts?

My husband & I have been loyal to Solera (we had the luck of making dinner reservations for New Year's, so we did not get stuck out in the cold or miss out on our money's worth of drinks). My only reservation with this restaurant is the dessert menu. Being the chocolate person that I am, it's extremely disappointing to see that 99% of it does not include chocolate (the exception being the dessert sampler, which includes a tiny chocolate cookie ice cream sandwich). I know the owners read these postings, so please add some chocolate! Thanks!

Birthday Celebration!

For my sisters birthday this last weekend, she chose to go to Solera's to celebrate. At the beginning I had been very reluctant to go since I have never been there before, but once we arrived we all had a great time! It was a little crowded but overall the enviornment was upbeat and fun! The drinks were great and I will be returning again soon!

I Love the Night Life... I Love to Boogie...

I went out for girls' night a little while ago. We always try to find a place we've never been before. Some places we've gone have either been too expensive or not enough of a "fun" environment. We went to Solera and had such a blast! We got buck in here!!! Crazy crunk! I would definitely rock my stiletto's again with my ladies at Solera's!!!

Fun Atmosphere and Great Music

I have been to Solera's a couple of times so far and have had fun experiences. live music and cool atmosphere added alot to the night! The drink specials they have are great and the price isnt to shabby! I recommend you try the sangria! I I will for sure be back with friends to party it up!

love the bar scene

i love visting soleras for a night out on the town. it is near all of the downtown partys! it can be a little crowded but what place downtown on saturday night isn't? right? the music and entertainment is good and alot of fun! i would recommend this place to anyone.

Great Customer Service

I just recently visited Solera's for the first time and had a wonderful time! I went with a bunch of girl friends for a night out and the staff could not have been more helpful and nice. The atmosphere is young and hip and we had so much fun! I will definetely return for the great food and nice staff!

Fantastic Service

Solera is our FAVORITE restaurant! This place is awesome. The food is great, the service is super accomodating, and the prices can't be beat. I loved the atmosphere of this place - very casual, very young and in the heart of downtown.

Gorgeous Space & Wonderful Night

Just visited this restaurant for the first time...What a gorgeous space?! This is one of the few places Barcelona has been recreated tastefully. The food was delightful and our professional server guided us through the all-Spanish wine list with ease. Highly recommend the tasting menu. Will return.

Disappointed in Solera

There has been a lot of disappointment in Solera as of late. I agree that it is not smart to judge an eatery/bar on one experience. NYE was a massive disaster. It is also smart to read reviews spanning back 6 to 9 months. This industry is famous for heavy employee/management turnover, so 6 to 9 months is an excellent gauge. There doesn't appear to be 'braggingly' happy customers recently. This technique in judging a potential place hasn't faild me yet.
