Great People
by bptak1
Had a great lunch there and then stupidly left by credit card. I'm from out of town and they have agreed to send it to me. So not only did I have good food, a pleasant lingering lunch, good conversation at a nice place, but I also didn't get penalized for my stupidity. Thanks POP.
- Pros: Friendly and honest staff
- Cons: none
3 Hours for a Hamburger, Rude Owner
by Chucho
We went to Pop before the EJ & BJ concert at the Excel. Got there at 5:45, was late for the concert since it took them 3 hours to bring us such complicated dishes as a hamburger and fish tacos. The best part was when the hostess brought over a salad which was split. Problem was they had just brought the same salad 5 minutes before, but did not split it, so we had already split it. When we asked the hostess what was up, she just blew us off and walked away. We later found that this person was the owner! It is one thing to have a bad waitress, slow service etc. it is another thing when the owner treats you like the restaurant name with an extra O, which is exactly what they should rename this place. The food was ok and the only saving grace was my favorite Elton John song was playing as we left for the concert, "Don't let your son go down on me" which was ironic as the sun will soon be setting on this restaurant.
- Pros: Food Was good
- Cons: 3 hour dinner, owner was rude and dismissive
Good Food, Good Service
by blueeberri
I met 2 friends at POP last night at 5:30 pm and we were seated right away. The waiter was friendly and prompt. I had the pork chop special, it was delicious. They liked their food too. I have had the rib special there too, it was great. I have never had bad food there. I got there a before my friends and ventured down to the retro clothing shop on the same block. There is also a gift shop across the street and a coffee shop. I can always find parking. I will definately go back again. Why would you even consider Applebees or Chammps when you have a place near by like POP? I recommend it.
- Pros: Great food, convenient location, parking available. Wine list.
- Cons: Sit close to other guest.
NOT a place to linger
by minneapolismama
I went to this restaurant to catch up with an old friend last night. Although the food was good, the service was not. They rushed to take our plates practically before we were finished eating. Then, they immediately brought our bill. Within a minute, they asked if we were ready to pay. We paid the bill, but then lingered to chat. After not much time at all, the manager came over, put her hand on my shoulder and said, "we need to ask you to leave, as people are waiting for this table." There were other open tables for two they could have moved us to, but instead, they asked us to leave! This restaurant is not somewhere I'll be going back to anytime soon. Very poor customer service, for sure!!
- Pros: reasonably good food
- Cons: very poor service, too little seating
Best Swedish Meatballs in Town
by jayleck
A wonderful restaurant representing the best of Northeast charm. The atmosphere is light and very cheerful. Food is wonderful. The Swedish Meatballs are my absolute favorite. Portion sizes are very generous; you will leave very full. I love the fries that come with the sandwiches; thinly sliced and fried perfectly.
- Pros: Uncluttered Delicious Menu, Neighborhood charm
- Cons: Can't think of any
Put it on your "places to eat" list
by fetsywetsy
I absolutely loved Pop. The ingredients were fresh and the entrees were inventive. They have a great wine list. The ambiance of the place is bright and colorful, but still feels intimate. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. This is a great place for a date night. :)
- Pros: Great food, wonderful staff
- Cons: Parking

This place is fabulous! It's just a few blocks from my house and I frequent it. The menu is unique and the staff is always friendly! So glad to have such a gem so close to home.
Excellent food, Excellent Service
by dwojcieh
Tried this restaurant for the first time last night. Called ahead as we had a larger party (8). Hostess was very friendly, said they did not take reservations, but could "plan ahead" for our arrival. Showed up and were promptly seated, as they were prepared for our party; huge relief. Had a wide variety of food to offer and everyone was incredilbly happy with their food (flank steak special, swedish meatballs, cous cous and shrimp, thai chicken salad). Also enjoyed their extensive Pop list, wine, and beer choices. They even allowed us to carry-in a birthday cake (no charge), lit candles, brought the cake out, provided a knife, boxed the cake back up for us! Incredible customer service! We were so pleased we offered them some of the cake. Food was delicious and very cheap for the quality. Decor is very cute. I would strongly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for great food at an affordable price, with impeccable service.
- Pros: Great food, great price, great variety, and excellent service
- Cons: None
Fun food, friendly atmosphere
by mcfoodie12
We've returned to this fun little restaurant multiple times. Like the food, service is good and the price is fair. We've seen families dining happily. Something on the menu for everyone. Wish they took reservations. We compensate by going there during the week.
- Pros: Menu appealing to everyone, value
- Cons: No reservations
This colorful restaurant offers Latin-influenced cuisine in a stylish setting with yellow and orange walls decorated with modern art.

In Short
With its sleek, '60s-inspired decor and tasteful pop art, Pop! fits right into this eclectic neighborhood. Stylish diners mingle, soaking up the funky, low lighting and promising aromas floating out of the kitchen. Appetizers include a mild-mannered, bubbly, baked cheese to spread on toast. An entree of shrimp stew over Israeli couscous is hearty and deeply flavored. The only truly retro taste is the drink menu--Tab, Orange Crush and root beers bottled by Stewart's, Buddy's and Sprecher bring back fond, fizzy memories.
