I have (well I should say had) super curly, frizzy and out of control hair that took forever to straighten for events or days when I just couldn't handle the curl. I have always wanted sleek, shiny and straight hair so I decided to look into making it a permanent thing. I started to look at salons in the cities and found that it was more than I expected, but I decided to sit down with a few different salons and find out more details. I found the pricing was anywhere from 600.00-1000.00. I also went for consultations and one of the places I went to was Zilya Salon and Spa! I talked to Zilya and Jessica who told me about the process and the cost and what the day would look like and they were very helpful. I paid half of the total cost for a deposit and then paid the rest after my service, a total of 600.00. Jessica is so great, she was very friendly and easy to talk to. Zilya knows what she is talking about and the rest of the staff was very helpful and welcoming. I really enjoyed my time there, and yes it was expensive, but I got exactly what I had hoped for and also a great colorist (Jessica) in the process! If you are looking to get rid of the frizzies for the summer go to Jessica and Zilya!
Pros: Getting Exactly What I Asked For
Cons: na

I have gotten my hair cut here 4 times. Each time I go back the pervious person who cut my hair is no longer there. The first two times I loved my cut and color. Then things started to go bad. I just got a trim and absolutely hate my hair. This is the worse haircut I have ever had. However I did like my color. The price is outrageously high (higher than what their web site states). I am not one to complain about my hair and I have never been dissatisfied with a haircut like this before. I had a "senior" stylist who I found out had only been cutting hair for 3 years. This place is going down hill and I will never go back.
Pros: color
Cons: price, skill, parking, rapid staff turnover.

I just moved to Minneapolis from the West Coast and was in need of a brazillian so I checked the internet like any other saavy girl and found Zilya Salon and Spa. I met with Jennifer, the esthi and she is FABULOUS!!! I have had tons of brazillians, but her's has been the best yet. She was super friendly, and efficient. It was over before I realized it :) I then met the owner, Zilya and she was doing extensions. I have seen my share of extensions being from Hollywood, and the ones at Zilyas look just as good! So I decided to do the extensions seeing that they are just as great as the ones at the high profile salons in Hollywood, but MUCH LESS expensive and better service. When I came in for my extensions they served me wine, lunch from Zenos (YUMMY,) movies, a complimentary massage and great conversations!!! I am going to go in and have a facial with Jennifer next week and I cannot wait!!! ps when i got done with my extensions i got this really great bag filled with shampoo, conditioner, a brush and styling products that i would need for my extensions!!!!
Pros: great waxing, BEAUTIFUL extensions and well educated stylists
Cons: when having extensions done it is a long day, but worth it :)

After going to salons such as Juut my haircolor was a complete mess. Several "experts" later I was referred to Zilya Salon & Spa. Everyone specializes in either cutting design or color so they really are experts. My colorist was very attentive to my needs and explained what she was doing so I could understand. The prices are not for someone looking to get a Cost Cutters cut and boxed color. In my opinion, you get what you pay for. I would definetly recommend this salon to anyone. The staff are incredibly talented and knowleadgable....if you go for color ask for Jessica.

I've been going to Zilya's salon on and off throughout a year, and had my hair done with Zilya... She's definitely a person of the mood. When she wants, she will work miracle on your hair (what made me come back to her salon), but at other times she will do a fast hand job that i could've received for a half price at any other salon. Other thing I hate, is when she double book and work simultaneously on two people, and as a result has other people continue or finish her job. She speaks a great deal about her personnel, although personaly i noticed a very high personnel turnover. She's very money orientated and trying to up sell her services, and persist on buying salons' product. I always end up paying more than i get initialy quoted. In short, going to her salon is like going to a casino, you never know if you will get lucky and she will do your hair well. If money is not a concern, i'd say go ahead try your luck. As for me, I quit going there, because it's extremely expensive to gamble.

I am very pleased and happy with the services at Zilya Salon. I started going there after carefully researching my options for hair extensions. I am now on my second set and couldn't be more delighted. The results are amazing. Zilya is truly a master stylist. Not only does my hair look great, but she has done a great job in teaching me how to style it myself. The other stylists are also very professional. I have been able to observe their work and they do beautiful cuts and colors on their clients. The other staff members are so sweet and have done as much as they can to accommodate my schedule. Truly a pleasure to be around. All very nice women. I travel a great distance to use the services from this salon (200 miles one way). At this point I am so pleased I can't imagine going anywhere else.

Zilya is a great place and I loved going there, minus the parking; but the reason I loved going there so much was my stylist, Alla, and once she left I was very concerned about finding another. If you had been using Alla in the past and want to locate her now I have found her at Zina’s Full Service Salon Edina, MN 55436 (Hwy. 100/Vernon Ave/50th Ave) Telephone: (952) 929-0093 Otherwise Zilya is a great place with nice decor and talented staff.
Pros: talented staff
Cons: parking

Service was weak! Not too friendly. Made an appointment and then waited half an hour to be cut. Wasn't too impressed with my cut...it was average but over priced. Won't go back and won't recommend.
Cons: Unfriendly and overpriced

The stylists are knowledgeable and friendly. They will take care of whatever you need and go beyond what you requested if you need something else done. They do pressure you to buy product though, as well as extra services and they don't take "no" well. The services are very high priced already so it's a little frustrating when they keep trying to push you into more, even if you say you can't afford it or aren't interested. The stylists also quote different pricing then what is listed and what the receptionist quotes so that was annoying as well. I was quoted a much lower price initially then what I ended up paying.
Pros: knowledgeable stylists, up to date with trends, helpful
Cons: too pushy, too expensive, pricing changes from what is quoted

I just moved to uptown and I really want to find a good facial place. So I went to Zilya. I got a lot of massage from "deep cleaning facial treatment" that was good but the cleaning part was so so. Then after facial she recommended some products, not all the people like that part :) anyway, service was good. But I will try other facial places next time.
Pros: good service
