Great food and service

Nice decor, great employees, fabulous food. The Steak Salad is to-die-for. The always-watchful management ensures you're being taken care of. The service is casual and friendly, personal. A great place to relax after work.

Mediocre food

I'm surprised to find so many positive review about View. My husband and I went for the first time yesterday for Sunday brunch and couldn't be more disappointed in a restaurant that looks nice and has a great location. I ordered the crab eggs benie and all I could taste was red peppers. My husband had a dried out omelet. I suppose I'm not surprised- there no line to get in for popular Sunday brunch and the manager was sitting on the stairs in the main dining area talking on his cell phone.

excellent!!!

I had my birthday at the View recently and it was an amazing experience. Thank you so much to everybody who work at the View. Everything was perfect. Our waitress was the greatest, I really want to thank her for turning my birthday party in to a great night. THANK YOU!!

Great happy hour spot!

I've never had full on dinner at View, but it's the perfect happy hour spot! Also great for business meetings. They have great specials on appetizers and drinks, which can easily become a meal. I also love that their offer half sized salads. The spinach and fruit salad is AMAZING! Not overly fruity and the perfect vinaigrette to top it off. That with a glass of wine for under $10?! Excellent weeknight dining spot!

Ambience is great and parking is surprisingly easy as well.

Great brunch in uptown

we went to view for a weekend brunch get together on saturday. there were 6 of us and we had their brunch. i have to say it was so nice to find a different place to go for brunch on weekends. our server was so sweet. great food, and amazing service. thanks

Not as great as I expected

I read the reviews for VIEW and decided to book my birthday party there. We stopped in the bar to have a cocktail before dinner and the server was SO INTENSE! he barely stayed at our table long enough to take our order. he was very loud and pretty rude. we could see him spending lots of time at other tables, but could barely order a drink for us.

We moved into the dinner area where we had a table reserved for 15- they put 11 of us at one table and 4 at another table- i didnt want my guests sitting away from us- so i had the server rearrange the tables. we had 1 server for all of us and she was pretty quiet and a little stand-off.

The food was great and i would certainly recommend the food, but the service was just below par. The host/owner at the front door was the nicest man i've ever met- but the servers we encountered were nothing of anything wonderful.

i wouldnt recommend VIEW for large parties and i would recommend VIEW take a look at their staff and train them how to be more pesonal and more friendly to the guests.

great food, even better deserts

i had reservation for my birthday dinner with a few friends last friday night. our server nicholas was great. very friendly and helpful. we had the calamari, and stuffed mushrooms for appetizers, both very tasty. i had filet and my girlfriend had the tuna entree, i also tried a bite of my friend's pork tenderloin and i was pleasantly surprsied with the food quality. thanks for a good experience.

Avoid eating dinner in the bar.

I went there with a group of friends for my birthday and was disppointed. The appetizers were great, but the entrees were quite bad. We had to get some food taken off our bill because it was so gross. We also were seated in the bar and it was so noisy we couldn't hear each other and they didn't tell us ahead of the time that we would be in the bar. The restaurant was beautful and parking was free, other than happy hour I would not go back.

GREAT SERVICE, INVITING ATMOSPHERE

My fiance and I went for brunch. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Food was also delicious! I liked the contemporary look to the place and also the atmosphere. I'll be celebrating a birthday there so I'm looking forward to going back w/friends! Good place to stop in for a bite if you've been strolling around the Uptown/Lake area.

wonderful experience

a group of us went there for dinner. we sat at in the dining room which was beautiful and a more calm than the bar area as expected! our server brian was very friendly and helpful. we started off with the calamari, mushrooms, and view fries for appetizers. the mushrooms and the calamari were outstanding. i had the fish special which was great, the server also recommended the pork tenderloin and the ahi tuna, which other people in our group ordered. they loved their meal as well. the stand out of the evening was the tomato avocado and mozzarella salad and the cheesecake, they were both the best i have ever had :) we will definitely go back.
